"We had an amazing one night stay here. Family Room on the top floor, fantastic view of the sea and great for people watching. Toilet is down the hall, not that clean and fresh feeling. Showers down a floor, fine. Incredibly good value for such an amazing location right in the heart of things. We tried to stay a second night but unfortunately that room was booked and we were offered a room on the first floor but it seemed like it would be really noisy right over the pub. Seems like your experience really relies on getting a good room - and we really did. Can't wait to go back. "

"Nicely furnished, maintained, and managed accommodation with a yummy breakfast! Nice access to area attractions! It was a bit hot with no air conditioning and without much breeze blowing so, we tried to keep the windows opened … however, motorcycles and talking pedestrians outside were noisy rather late. So, there was a trade off between having a cooler room with open windows but having to endure disturbingly loud motorcycles and other street noises. Luckily there was a portable fan in the room … if not for that fan, it would have been uncomfortably hot and sweaty."

"Best location for hotel in Southend. Overall an excellent hotel , especially the family room is very good. The receptionist stored our baggage so we can go out and wonder about as we got there before the 3pm Check-in time. Also at check out time 12pm they stored our luggage in hotel so we can pick up later which was kind of them."

"The worst part of our stay was that it was too short, everything was absolutely perfect with the accommodation. From the outset communication was excellent, more especially on the day of our arrival. Jai very kindly facilitated a luggage drop off before check-in which was greatly appreciated. Overall this is a gem of a place to stay and we will definitely be back."

"Due to plumbing repair overrun we were called at 0650 a week before and moved to a flat in Westcliff (choice of 2). I thought I was talking to a Vrbo person and was confused that the property details was on a different provider"s site. The flat address was for the ground floor but the flat was on the 1st floor. Neither of the visible keysafes yielded the keys - found a third eventually. Spent ages trying the wrong flat door. Only 2 of us but the property was advertised for 5. Enough beds but no chairs beside L shaped sofa made from 2 bed bases which would fit 3 to sit maximum. Top windows all pushed so far open that they couldn't be closed until we found a taller neighbour. One double bedroom has the bed, wardrobe, 1 bedside unit turned sideways so that the lamp cord could reach; mirror and one very high shelf. 2nd bedroom: double and single bed, the matching bedside unit and a chest of drawers and mirror. The garden door from the room led to a steep looking staircase blocked by the neighbours brambles. No visible sign of garden furniture. No aerial for the TV so no Freeview. There was Netflix. We met the family who had booked it a month previously on the doorstep the first night. They were sent off to a different property 25 minutes away. There was no welcome sheet which normally tells you a bit of local detail, rubbish collection and checkout details. We thought it was 11, received call at 10.30ish telling us the cleaner was on the step and why haven't we left? "
