「We were scheduled to spend one night. Weather stranded us in Westport for an extra two nights as all roads to the east side of the South Island were closed. Charles, Jackie and Fran treated us like family making us feel at home. It was a memorable stay in a very nicely restored house of a bygone era with an impressive collection of art and artifacts. 」

「It was a very nice comfortable house. Enough beds for families with kids and cozy setting for couples too. Laundry facilities were nice since we stayed here in the middle of a long trip. Felt like home and I would recommend for everyone. 」

「Very well laid out communal cooking, dining and lounge areas. Perfect place for affordable accommodation that is across from the lake and minutes from the town centre. This is the perfect place for young adults upwards, they clearly state no young children. My private ensuite room was very clean and comfortable with lake views and a blacony area. The only thing about my room is they need to fix the front facing window so you can open it especially as the weather warms up」

「ホテルはかつての領主の自宅を改築したような印象で、周りは木々に囲まれて鳥の鳴き声、花々に囲まれた美しい環境だった。ただ、雨が降り続いた後で、ぬかるみが多く歩き回ることはできなかったのが残念だった。部屋にTVがないのも印象的だった。」

「I had a lovely albeit short stay at Hawkdun Rise. Suzanne and John are wonderful hosts who make you feel at home. The interior could be slightly more modern for my personal taste but everything was very clean and well kept. And you can tell that the owners put a lot of thought into creating a space in which their guests can feel comfortable and welcome. Need to try their Gewürztraminer! 」
