We booked this ski lodge during the Thanksgiving holidays, late to get a New Year’s week booking. This lodge had everything we were looking for: ski in/out, sleeps 8 adults and four young children, well-equipped kitchen, two very comfortable living areas (the second-level space was perfect for the kids). We had never skied Hidden Valley and knew nothing about the layout. This ski lodge is right across the street from the top of the sunrise/sunset lifts, which are the main lifts and allow access to about half the terrain that the snow guns service. We had different groups on the slopes all day and evening. It’s a two minute walk to the top of the slope. Owner was very helpful getting us settled in and ready to go. He responded to messages immediately and called to make sure everything was good. The bedroom on the ground floor is the nicest, and we gave that one to the infant granddaughter (and her parents and pet dog ;-)). We gave the bedroom next to the kitchen to the 2-year old and parents. The rest of us camped out on the second floor. This worked well. Twelve is the upper bound on the sleeping facilities.
Following the owner’s suggestions, we brought all the groceries and booze we needed with us. There was plenty of room in the fridge and on the kitchen counters.
Overall a very pleasant holiday that we thoroughly enjoyed.
