The property owner contacted us in the morning of our arrival "sasquatch house has 2 listings, the sasquatch retreat which is where you will stay and sasquatch suite which is a private suite on the lower level". We were told we needed to observe "quiet hours" 8pm-7am because the suite is right below the living room. None of this was in the listing. We got multiple stories from the owner, there would be "guests" staying in the suite, then she would be staying there with her husband and kids in the "owners suite", then the suite was actually a separate apartment, then they were just going to come by to pick things up, then they might need to do "unexpected maintenance". While I was talking to her on the phone, she modified the listing to describe how there were shared spaces and quiet hours because the home is "two listings". It's against VRBO policy "hosts don't stay with you in a Vrbo vacation home. You always have the whole place to yourself." We told the host we wouldn't stay because of how the home was misrepresented, and their questionable behavior. We asked for a refund and they refused, so now we're a couple months trying to work through Vrbo for the refund. If they have corrected the problem, that's great, but beware. We stay with VRBO all the time and have never had such a bad experience with a host.
