「It was nice and spacious. A lovely location. Issues - Firstly, we arrived to find dirty dishes, garbage still in the bathroom and overall not cleaned properly. This isn't an issue with the owner as they were responsive when we brought it up but still we had to clean. The dirty linens were left in the washer, which we understood would happen. 「the man and women at the front desk were amazing. they went above and beyond for us. we were in a car accident (rear ended) on our first day in Iceland (about 15 minutes from the cottages) and were very stuck as we couldn’t drive the car or make phone calls. we got in contact with them and they not only picked us up but moved us into a room in the main part of the building so that we could be close to the front desk to use their phones to make many calls back and forth to our car rental company....

"When I arrived, I had some trouble parking because the road in front of the hotel had just been painted and we couldn't park (the hotel staff told me that they hadn't have been informed either), but the reception staff was very cheerful and friendly, which made me feel better. And when I contacted the hotel that I would not be able to check in on time, they kindly responded to my request. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of options. If I have the next opportunity to go to Stykkishólmur, I would like to stay here again."
