Let's start with the positives. The reception desk and café staff, were incredibly helpful and kind. The room was clean. The dining space was updated and clean and the staff did their best. The grounds were well kept.
The negative were the other staff. No one spoke English and did not attempt to communicate in any other language, verbal or non-verbal. Listing a property on Expedia should include mention that English is not widely spoken when appropriate. Except for the cave steam bath, there were no written English instructions for the process to use the different facilities. It's not easy! The expectations are very specific and guidance was not provided.
Dinner was 12 Euro per person and adequate, not great. Sklene Templice is a very small town and there were no other options that we could find. The café served delicious ice cream, cakes, and beverages only.
The biggest disappointment was there were no treatments available. Everything was booked except for a one-hour bath. We were told that we should have made reservations at least a week in advance. I reserved our two rooms more than a month in advance and was never told to make reservations for treatments. That was the main reason we were there.
My remmendation is to skip this hotel. Stay in nearby Banska Stiavnica (18 minutes away) and book a massage and bath if possible. I can't vouch for the quality of the treatments, obviously.
This stop was at the end of our vacation and was really a let-down.
