"We had a great stay at Margi House. The room was beautifully furnished, and the outdoor jacuzzi was so lovely. The hill, which many mentioned, wasn’t too bad and was easily doable. The receptionist was super helpful and friendly - always with a smile on her face. Just a few things that could be improved: our coffee & water glasses weren’t cleaned until the last day. Since we didn’t have a kitchenette, this would have been nice. The main pool was lovely, but we did have to fish out a lot of bugs...

"The beach was further away than what was described and the “road” was not an actual road. The amenities ended up being less than what was listed, there are no washers, no parking, wifi sucks, etc. the pool was not clean, the food remained the same every day. It’s far from the main road. Towels were never changed, sheets never changed, never sweeper or mopped the room and we stayed for a decent time. Depending on the room the appliances did not work which we didn’t find out until everything went...

"Perched on a hillside above Skopelos Town, our hotel felt like a little slice of Greek paradise. Every morning we woke up to those jaw dropping views. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder. Aestes in particular made us feel like VIPs from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was its own event: fresh, delicious, and the perfect for a day in the sun. Getting to the hotel is easy enough, but Skopelos has very few taxis, so arranging a hotel pickup from the ferry ahead of time is a smart move. The walk is short but steep—great for the views, less great with luggage. Once you’re there, though, it’s pure relaxation. Our stay wasn’t just comfortable—it was genuinely fun and full of those moments that make a trip unforgettable."

"We stayed at Alkyon Hotel for 3 nights before travelling on to Skopelos and I couldn’t recommend this hotel more! It was so convenient being 5 minutes drive from the airport and on the sea front. It was less than 5 minutes walk from the main strip of restaurants along the front of the port but slightly out of the main town area so was quiet at night. The main bus stop for the town is right outside too which was great. The staff are fantastic! Evi at reception was extremely helpful, booking our Lalaria boat trip and a restaurant for us during our stay. They were also able to recommend a sheltered beach for us to visit on a windier day which we had a lovely time at, and there is always a member of staff to greet you at the entrance. The hotel and room itself was always clean and our balcony had a view of the sea which was great! The buffet breakfast was superb with a huge choice of food and is located upstairs so has an amazing view out to sea while you eat. The bar area downstairs was also lovely and had a great choice of cocktails. Although we didn’t use the pool much due to being so busy in our short stay, it seemed very nice with lots of sun loungers and chairs around. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay - I would definitely stay at Alkyon Hotel again and recommend to friends!"

"The rooms are well appointed, there is a cute pool with a small bar. The breakfast is vast, fresh, and there are options for everyone. The staff led by Effie are absolutely spectacular. They exude the definition of Greek Filoxenia. I would recommend for all type of vacationers. It is also very well located next to a large supermarket and just a few hundred meters from the main port. If you are looking for a relaxing stay, with the classic Greek hospitality, this is it. And this island does not disappoint. Huge thumbs up! I will be back next year!"

"Location was fabulous, stepped out 2 mins walk to the harbour then shops and bars. Then the other way was restaurants and where you could watch the planes come in. The pool was lovely and the staff so friendly and helpful. Supermarket 5 mins walk away. The only thing I could find wrong was not enough sun beds for the amount of rooms. But we were at the beautiful beachs most of the time."

"Martha the owner is amazing - nothing is too much trouble. She offers transport too and from the airport, welcomes you with a complimentary glass of wine on her roof terrace which has fabulous views over Skiathos town. Works very hard to make your stay comfortable. Happily mskes you a hot drink. Bedrooms very clean."

"Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The hotel does have the feel of a higher class hotel, with staff being attentive and the overall feeling of attention to detail. Our room felt as though it needed refurbishing or small updates to make it a 5* room. The balcony was good, but no real view, which was a shame, as I had asked for a room with a good view. The breakfast was good. Our flight was in the evening but staff were happy for us to stay and use the facilities, including the great pool and showers. The area of the hotel is not so nice. It is slightly back form the main town centre, so quiet, but there are quite a few businesses buildings around and there is not much pavement on the walk to and from the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We had a good price which made it good value for money. Some reviews say this is more of a 4* hotel. I would perhaps be slightly more generous. It is perhaps not a 5* feeling, but maybe a 4.5*."
