Would stay again

Very nice stay and very comfortable. One of our rooms was perfect, while the other had all outlets behind the beds which is not a big problem but a little annoying having to climb the bed to charge every time. The bath-products and shop is excellent, the food was really good and the atmosphere beautiful and cosy.

Babel was a gorgeous place to stay in Siem Reap. Not far from the river & restaurant precinct it gave us a peaceful refuge after a day of exploration. Gorgeous pool area where we relaxed enjoying sumptuous cocktails. The attention to sustainability with recycling with water bottles & products used. Impressive. Loved our stay & definitely will be back.

Absolutely amazing!

Wow! This place was amazing from the second I arrived, such a beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff, clean room and good location. They also have a restaurant which serves amazing food, the glass noodle salad was one of the best meals I've had. If I ever come back to Siem Reap I will definitely be staying here again!

Priced right & value for money

A funky little hotel geared for the eco/vegan/family type travellers For the price it’s extremely good value in a nice walkable location to restaurants etc We loved the restaurant bar area & staff. Just fantastic great value for money & a beautiful ambiance. My only gripe that the food menu leaned more towards vegan, however not entirely. The pool area is an oasis from the hustle & bustle very nice. The rooms are of good size & comfortable, however shower was hand held with poor pressure. No fridge in the rooms, however we’re allowed to put drinks in kitchen fridge downstairs. Wifi was average. When we stayed there were several families with young children. They could be loud, but that’s kids, & hotel catered well for them. If that’s an issue for you, take note. Additionally most rooms are on upper levels, with steep stairs. No lifts Overall we really liked the hotel & would consider staying again. It’s priced accordingly & certainly has a family owned charm about it, & their staff were exceptional

I loved my stay at Babel Guest House for its eco-friendliness, easy availability of tuktuks, clean & green surroundings, friendly staff, beautiful pool etc. I loved the minimalistic approach but I would personally consider to have a kettle & a long mirror in the room.

A relaxing guesthouse away from the centre

Spent a pleasant few days at Babel Guesthouse in Siem Reap. The staff are very friendly, although the English speakers seemed to lack a bit of local knowledge. Liked the eco aspect of the guesthouse. Our room was very large, with a good shower. AC and fan was available. The guesthouse dining/lounge area is big and enjoyable to use, as is the pool out the back of the building. The guesthouse is well located for Virek Buntham buses and you can get to the main tourist area of Siem Reap in a 15-20 minute walk. Breakfast is available, but it is more expensive than you can find elsewhere. The same for dinner. Ask to be collected from the airport or bus station and your tuk tuk driver will be your personal chauffeur during your time in Siem Reap. Definitely listen to their guidance on how to get around the temples and take a tour with them.

Unfortunately, Babel Guesthouse was not the right fit for us. Upon arrival with my husband and our 3-year-old daughter, we quickly realized it wasn’t what we were looking for to end our vacation. We decided immediately to find an hotel and never used the room—we left it exactly as we found it. I had booked four nights and didn’t expect any kind of refund. However, the manager contacted me asking me to cancel the reservation through Expedia. I did so right away, thinking perhaps they were considering refunding at least a couple of nights. I wasn’t expecting to be refunded for the first night, as that wouldn’t have been fair. But in the end, it became clear that the only reason for the request was to free up the room and offer it to someone else, without offering me anything in return. It was a disappointing and frustrating experience.

Dårlig utstyrt rom. Ikke kjøleskap,tv,men kunne få hårføner og vannkoker i resepsjonen. Ikke greit å måtte ta av sko i resepsjonen før en gikk flere etasjer til rom. Hyggelig bassengområde. Barnevennlig. Hyggelig personale. Overpriset sammenlignet med andre steder.

En oase midt i byen

Herlig stemning, skulle gjerne vært her lengre. Sosialt sted å bo, du kommer i prat med gjester i bar/lobby. Herlige sjåfører og hjelpsomme ansatte. Anbefaler flere av utfluktene. Maten er god. Bassengområdet hyggelig. Fint miljøfokus. Deilig at sengen var en ordentlig dobbeltseng og ikke to små slått sammen med grop i midten.

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Guesthouse hat ein tolles Konzept für soziale Verantwortung und Nachhaltigkeit. Es gibt ein großes Angebot an Touren und auch eigene Tuktuk- und Taxifahrer, die einen auf Wunsch fahren oder auch eigene Ideen haben, was sie einem in Siem Reap zeigen können. Ein wirklich toller Service! Das Essen ist lecker, manchmal dauert es etwas länger, da es frisch zubereitet wird. Selbst die Speisen auf der Kinderkarte sind frisch und nicht industriell gefertigt. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Siem Reap werden wir definitiv wieder ein Babel Haus wählen.

Spiego perché non so 5/5. È una guest house e non un resort 5 stelle. Detto questo è molto pulito, staff super gentile e location molto caratteristica. Si mangia bene e lo stile è molto europeo. Si trova a circa 1 km da pub street. Il che ci sta perché è una passeggiata in una zona tranquilla e che comunque sembra davvero sicura. Ci sarebbero alcune accortezze da migliorare per renderlo perfetto: 1- le salviette doccia sono logore e strappate... Ok che è una guest house ma basterebbe un po' più di cura. In generale gli asciugamani sono pochi 2- le gite all'angkor vat organizzate dall'hotel sono ottime e i ragazzi sono simpatici, però costano più che contrattando direttamente col Tuc tuc. Ci sta. Non ci vorrebbe nulla però ad avere una borsa frigo con due acque e un po' di frutta (i tuc tuc "autoctoni" lo hanno quasi tutti!). 3- quando viene messo il cartellino "please male my room" in realtà si limitano a rifare il letto ma niente di molto accurato... Piscina top e col caldo che fa lì è una manna! In generale lo consiglierei.

Schöne Tage im Babel Guesthouse!

Toller Aufenthalt! Schönes, sauberes Zimmer. Sehr sehr freundliches Personal, das geduldig jede Nachfrage beantwortete. Es können Touren (z.B. zu den Tempeln) vom Hotel aus gebucht werden (haben hoteleigene Tuktuk-Fahrer, die sich wirklich gut auskennen und gut Englisch sprechen), es gibt einen Trinkwasserspender, der jederzeit umsonst benutzt werden kann und die Speisekarte ist so breit aufgestellt, dass jeder etwas findet. Die Mango-Shakes sind sehr zu empfehlen! Gemütlicher Aufenthaltsbereich draußen im Schatten sowie Pool mit Liegen im hinteren Bereich des Guesthouses. Sehr zu empfehlen, würde jederzeit wieder buchen!!

Nous avons passés un séjour des plus agréable dans un établissement en plein centre ville. L’accueil et la chambre étaient à la hauteur de nos espérances. Le seul bémol encore une fois est que la pratique du Français ne soit pas plus généralisé dans ce type d’hôtellerie. Encore merci à l’équipe du Babel !

Friendly Place

The staff was attentive and helpful. Our major issues were the fact that there was smoking allowed in the dining area which seemed incongruous with the eco focus of the hotel and the shower was a challenge to use. There wasn’t a hand towel or bath mat either. Except for these few things we enjoyed our stay with Babel Guesthouse and would recommend it. Our tuk-tuk driver Toy was a delight and very thoughtful.

Very simple room. No shampoo, no body wash, no hair dryer, no refrigerator. The blanket is super thin. Maybe it’s just a bed sheet.
