"Pros: 5 min walk from Matsumoto station, many restaurants within 5-10min walking distance that’s foreign friendly, brand new hotel facility (beds were firm, staff was very friendly, overall facility very clean), free breakfast (western and American options were available and it was all delicious!), late night snacks (ramen and ice cream) available Cons: depending if there’s a tour group or not - the small/medium sized breakfast area can be very busy until 8:30am and you would need to wait, shower curtain has a musty smell if not aired out properly Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again "

"Lovely olde world hotel with a nice basement bath house. Good breakfast and a great location close to shops, restaurants and the beautiful castle. Pick up from the station at 3pm was a bonus!"

"Enjoyed our one night stay here. Booked one hour private onsen and thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and waterfall scene. Also did the public onsen and enjoyed it as well. Yukata clothing and towels are provided. Excellent service and a sense of luxury even though the hotel itself is dated. Good breakfast."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Celecton. I recommend getting the breakfast, it was very convenient as there are no konbini readily close by. We enjoyed using their onsen as well. It was nice to be within walking distance of the castle and is definitely worth visiting. We stayed here as a base for a trip to Tsmago and the Nakasendo trail. It is also a good base for a day trip to Nagano."
