Welcome! We’re excited to host you in our renovated 450 sqft basement apartment—just one block from Sheridan’s downtown. Thoughtfully updated, the space features a brand-new kitchen, remodeled bathroom, and a plush king-size bed. With its own private entrance and plenty of street parking, it’s a comfortable retreat for solo travelers or couples.
Comfort & Layout
The apartment has everything you need for a relaxing stay:
Full kitchen stocked with cooking essentials
Recently remodeled bathroom
King bed with fresh linens
Private entrance and simple layout that makes the space easy to settle into
Being below ground level, the apartment stays naturally cool year-round (low to mid-70s). It does not have AC, but a dehumidifier is available if you’d like extra airflow.
Noise & Older Home Quirks
This is a basement unit, so some sound from above does carry. We’ve heavily insulated the ceiling, added double layers of material, and used soundproofing caulk to minimize noise. You won’t hear TV from upstairs, but light footsteps are possible. For extra comfort, we’ve provided a noise machine and earplugs by the bed.
As with many older homes, you may notice the radiant heat pipes making cracking or popping sounds during seasonal changes—this is normal. Please also note: as of February 2024, our neighbors are remodeling their home, so occasional construction noise is possible until late summer.
Pet-Friendly with Outdoor Space
Traveling with your pet? We welcome furry friends for a $30 fee. The small shared backyard is a great spot to play, and Whitney Commons Park—just next door—offers some of the best walking paths in town.
Check-In & Hosting Style
Check-in is simple and contactless. You’ll receive a unique code through Airbnb’s system via our August smart lock, and we’ll also send a reminder with details a few days before your arrival. My wife, father, and I maintain the property ourselves, so you may see us outside tending to the yard, snow removal, or upkeep, but your space is completely private.
Location
Our home is just steps from downtown, Kendrick Park, and Sheridan’s walking trails. Street parking is usually plentiful, with spots right in front of the house often open in the evenings.
We’re thrilled to host you—settle in, enjoy Sheridan, and feel right at home!
My dog and I stayed one night as we passed through Sheridan. The house was in a residential neighborhood, and a short walk Main Street. This house was well stocked, with little extras like candy, teas, coffee, and hot chocolate in the kitchen to dental floss in the bathroom.
