About this property
2 bedroom accommodation in Nr Wells
Bright and spacious contemporary barn set in a 25-acre farm in the heart of one of England’s most special places - the spectacular limestone Mendip Hills of Somerset, a picturesque Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.. All on the Ground Floor:
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Oil fired central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Highchair. Enclosed gravelled garden with decking, patio, sitting out area, garden furniture and barbecue. Electric car charging point (by prior arrangement). Private parking for 8 cars. No smoking.. Primrose offers modern, contemporary living space combined with the cosiness and comfort of a country retreat. The barn has an open plan feel with exposed beams, a chic wall mounted gas fire, and full glass doors that all open onto a small decked garden - perfect for summer BBQs or socialising after a busy day exploring the surrounding Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Both bedrooms have their own bathroom, one of these being en suite, and there is plenty of room outside as the barn is set on a small private estate, with the additional attraction of some very nosey alpacas. A paddock can even be provided for visiting horses with more details on stabling available on request.
Primrose is part of a recently renovated farm complex and can be booked with Marigold (ref M555019) for larger family gatherings. Primrose is approached via a secluded and stunning tree-lined private drive. Although the barn is tucked away in the beautiful and relaxing Somerset countryside, it is in fact, only two miles from the historic market town of Shepton Mallet, five miles from the beautiful medieval city of Wells and within ten minutes drive to Bath park and ride service. In addition, it is close to the Royal Bath and West Showground and is also conveniently located for the world-famous Glastonbury music festival. This really is a perfect location to visit everything that is on offer in the great area of the south west of England.

Lovely, clean accommodation, perfectly situated for exploring Somerset.
Lovely, clean accommodation, perfectly situated for exploring Somerset. It had everything we needed. Including a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of cider!!! And the owners couldn't have been more lovely. Would definitely recommend and I will be back myself.

Very warm, comfortable cottage.
Very warm, comfortable cottage. Major disadvantage is lack of walking distance to shop/pub, however that compensated by the peace and quiet.

Excellent place to stay when visiting the area, we were visiting family however it is a good location for Bath Wells and Glastonbury. All close and easy to reach also other places further afield would be equally easy to travel to.It is a remote spot in the sense that when you are there you are surrounded by lovely countryside and close to local footpaths. At night you would not know that you are only 3 miles from Shepton Mallet.

This was the perfect location for exploring Somerset.
This was the perfect location for exploring Somerset. Only 20 minutes to the lovely city of Wells and about an hour from Clevedon on the cost. Lovely clean accommodation all on one level which was perfect for a member of our party with limited mobility. It had everything we needed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend this property and will visit again myself.
Very spacious accommodation, good size kitchen with all amenities, ensuite fully Equipped plus additional bath/shower room next to second bedroom.

We had a lovely time at Primrose cottage and it was the perfect getaway from London for myself, partner and toddler. There was plenty of space and beautiful surroundings. We particularly enjoyed having the ponies and alpacas nearby and going for walks straight from the door. Cottage itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Thanks for a great stay.

Had a lovely week at Primrose cottage.
Had a lovely week at Primrose cottage. The cottage was excellent. Nicely furnished with a lovely private garden. It is set in a very peaceful location but within easy reach of interesting places to visit. The welcome gift of wine and biscuits from the owners was a very nice touch and much appreciated.

Great place to stay but one thing to be aware of that wasn't pointed out before arriving.
Great place to stay but one thing to be aware of that wasn't pointed out before arriving. The water is softened artificially so not advisable to drink. Need to take your own bottled water. Difficult when you arrive late and all you want is a hot drink to revive you.

Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings.
Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings.
Only one slight negative, the cottage does not accept pets, which is fine for our family, but then there was dog mess in the outside areas from the dogs in the main house. We didn’t want to have to avoid/ deal with this.

Lovely quiet location, lane can be very muddy in bad weather.
Lovely quiet location, lane can be very muddy in bad weather. Barn was airy, clean and relaxing, we liked the art work. There isn't an open fire as advertised, it is gas. Beds were comfortable, noise can be heard when in the double bedroom from the barn next door so not good if you are a light sleeper. Otherwise would recommend.
