Papa Bear Lodge | Log Cabin | Awesome theater room

Rustic charm with rocking chairs, mountain views and a year round fireplace. This 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom cabin can sleep up to 14 people and is located in Dolly Parton's hometown of Sevierville, TN. Located 15 minutes from Dollywood and 30 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, you will arrive at the cabin by easily accessible roads but wont have to fight the Parkway traffic.

✨ PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS ✨

Treat yourself to a mountain getaway with all the amenities that this cabin offers. Unwind in the living room watching the large flat screen television with a fire burning warmly in the electric fireplace. Located in the front yard is a gorgeous brand new firepit and seating for some cool weather outdoor relaxation.

Whether viewed from the deck in the bubbling hot tub or on the wooden rocking chairs you will have a perfect perspective of the ambiance of the mountains. Be close to all the family entertainment the bustling cities of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg have to offer yet far enough to retreat to the serenity of Papa Bear's Getaway when the day fades for the sanctuary sought after on a Smoky Mountain getaway.

★ Main Floor ★
The kitchen is fully stocked, including both a Keurig and a standard coffee maker, and has all you will need to prepare memorable meals. Easily sit up to 10 at the table and 4 at the bar. A master king suite with full bath with shower and a jacuzzi tub room is located on the main level as well as two deck spaces to view the breathtaking beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains while drinking your morning cup of coffee. Want to enjoy dinner outside? Grab your food off the grill and dine at the picnic table, wooden rocking chairs and porch swing with your loved ones while taking in the sights and sounds of the mountains.

★ First Lower Level ★
The second level offers you hours of entertainment with an exciting game of pool, air hockey, darts or play the arcade. You can also watch the big game on the large flat screen TV. Two more bedrooms are located on this level with queen-sized beds and a full bathroom.

★ Second Lower Level ★
Pop a bag of popcorn and head downstairs to the theater room with brand new theater seats! Movies or sports, you choose! Our bunk room with queen and twin bunks is located on this floor along with a sofa sleeper in the theater room with brand new memory foam mattress!

We had a wonderful stay at Papa Bear Lodge. The view and location are lovely. The three floors provided some family separation so we weren't always on top of each other. We also enjoyed the hot tub, arcade game, air hockey, and pool table. The fire pit was also awesome. The property could use some minor maintenance but no big deal.

The cabin upon arrival seemed small, but once inside there was plenty of room! Well decorated and aptly furnished, there was potential for it to be a perfect stay. The location of the cabin was a good distance from the hustle of the touristy parts of the nearby towns with convenient driving access to the Smokies, white water rafting and beautiful caves. I made a mistake in booking and was off a day, so we had to scramble out (left an hour after check out time) and get a hotel for our last day. I can say the cabin is defiantly the way to go over hotels. There were several reasons we could not give better ratings for the accuracy and cleanliness reviews: The kitchen was not well stocked. There was no pot to cook rice in (the only pot was a small sauce pot and the big pasta pot- if you try to cook rice in a pasta pot the proportions are off because the surface area messes with the team effect). There was no spatula for indoors, only grill utensils

Great property

We really enjoyed our stay. Property was clean. Although there were a few maintenance issues they didn’t affect our stay. We did have an issue with the tvs and internet not working properly, I contacted the property manager and he responded right away and sent someone out to fix it quickly. I was very impressed with his communication and fast time to get maintenance there to solve the issues.

Long awaited family get together

Upon arrival the cabin looks quite modest in size and initially a little concerned it was not going to work. Upon entering the cabin our fears quickly evaporated as the main bedroom suite was on the floor but we quickly found the stairs off the entrance hall. The second floor contained the well equipped game room, two nicely sized bedrooms and a second set of stairs. The 3rd floor contained sleeping room for up to 8 more people and the theatre room. The firepit, hottub. And multiple decks with a decent glimpse of mountains were also appreciated. The location of this cabin is enough off the center of activity that the area was quiet and peaceful while still giving us access to everything within a 10-30 minute drive. Our only regret it seems is that we spent too little time enjoying the cabin itself. Looking forward to rebooking again soon!

Iowa family spring break

Property was perfect for our family of 6. Plenty of room to spread out and enjoy each other but have spaces to go to on our own. Especially after hiking the mountains. Very clean and fun bear decor that wasn’t in your face but very fitting of the Papa Bear name. Location was great. Off the beaten trail just enough to feel away but be conveniently located to all the things. Views were beautiful. 30-40 minutes to National Park entrance or Gatlinburg. Amenities: Hot tub was great. Pool table… cue tips need replaced as only 1 was usable but we are good at sharing. Arcade game system…. Couldn’t keep our kids off of it as they loved all the old games. Air hockey…our kids played plenty but this could definitely use an update it’s close to dying. Theater room …enjoyable but surround sound didn’t seem to be working and we couldn’t locate a DVD player anywhere. But it has ROKU ability so we used that. Beds and pillows were very comfy! Not a single complaint from anyone in our crew. Plenty of plates, cups, utensils, etc. We did find that the air conditioning struggled big time on the days it got into the high 70s even though we followed all the signs to close doors. We were able to open windows but had a couple early evenings that were unpleasant inside. A “service required” comment was on the inside thermostat so hopefully that gets taken care of. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay for a week and we would book here again anytime!!!

Overall great!

Overall the stay was great. We played on pool good sticks, we played Air hockey, but it wouldn't keep score, seems like just a little maintenance and it would be fine. Just small details we noticed. Tick-tac-toe, one piece missing, air intake upstairs dirty, Hot tub was 105 degrees, too hot for us. The towels were Not soft, maybe they have hard water. could not cook on the Flat Top, it was just awful. it had rust and some water on it. I did not have time nor think it to be my responsibility to re-season it. These are by NO means deal breakers. We had a great time and there was enough room for all eleven of us!! If you have a problem, Travis will respond quickly with a solution. Thanks Travis!!

House is located closer to the interstate which means we didn't have to get in the Pidgeon Forge traffic, but Pidgeon Forge was only a 15 min drive. House was beautiful and beds were very comfortable. I did miss an indoor fireplace, but the theater room made up for it. Felt like I was in a real theater. Would definitely rent this house again!

The Perfect Getaway

We loved our stay at "Papa Bear"! This cabin is beautiful, cozy, and provides relaxation and tranquility with its amazing views from the wraparound porches or while enjoying the hot tub. It also has great entertainment with a pool table, air hockey, arcade games, or home theater. It's a great place for making memories! We can't wait to return!
