Mountain View Hideaway is an authentic luxury log cabin with awesome views of Cove Mountain and Wears Valley that can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests (8 included in base rate). Conveniently located in the gated community of Hideaway Mountain on the inside edge of Wears Valley. Mountain View Hideaway had an extensive remodeling and updating. The 6 month project included new or refinished floors, new granite kitchen counter tops, new stainless steel appliances, remodeled bathrooms, new theater room, new gas and electric fireplaces, new washer, dryer and 85 gallon water heater, new mattresses, comforters, new blinds and curtains and many more upgrades. The large outdoor and indoor community pools and recreation facilities (fees apply) are located at the Pigeon Forge Community Center, (behind Kroger) 15 minutes from Mountain View Hideaway
Seven steps down from the paved driveway is a large covered porch and the entrance to the main floor of the cabin. The main level has two large king suite bedrooms with private bathrooms, walk in closets, 32" HDTVs and DVD players. They are located to the left and right of the family room, kitchen and dining area. Both upstairs bedrooms have large glass doors that offer mountain and valley views, sunlight and easy access to the deck.
The family room has beautiful mountain and valley views, a stacked stone gas fireplace, true wood floors, a 50" HDTV with YouTube TV, DVD player and a door to the large rear deck. The kitchen has been updated with new granite counter tops, new stainless steel appliances, new sink and faucet. The kitchen table will seat 6 and an additional table and chairs from a nearby closet will seat an additional 4 guests. There's also a picnic table, that will seat 6, on the left side of the rear deck for nearly year round outdoor dining with a big view!
The loft has a queen log bed, a twin bed and a cozy seating area to admire the wonderful mountain and valley views, read a book or watch your favorite movies and shows on a 32" HDTV and a streaming DVD player. The loft area has privacy curtains and blinds and an additional air conditioner during the warm and hot seasons.
A relaxing theater room awaits you downstairs with a 65" smart streaming HDTV with surround sound. Curl up with your family members and friends on the sectional sofa with a queen sleeper and enjoy the warmth and relaxing sight of an electric fireplace. The pool room has a professionally installed quality 7 foot slate pool table for hours of pool with a view. A nearby two player video arcade table will provide plenty of fun and games. On the lower level, the "cowboy and cowgirl" bedroom offers a taste of the west with an adjoining bathroom, a comfy chair and ottoman, 32" HDTV and DVD player and electric fireplace. There's also a comfy roll away twin bed stored in the laundry room. Enjoy soaking your tired bones after a long day hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the 4 to 6 person hot tub, which is just around the corner on the lower deck. String lights over the hot tub give a festive atmosphere at night. Take a swing with your sweetheart on the porch swing on the other end of the lower deck.
Mt View Hideaway is conveniently located on the inside edge of Wears Valley, 15 minutes from Pigeon Forge, 12-15 minutes from the Metcalf Bottoms entrance to the National Park, 20-25 minutes to Gatlinburg, 20-25 minutes to Dollywood and 20-25 minutes to Townsend (unless heavy traffic to any of these destinations). There are over 150 restaurants in the area, along with nearly endless entertainment options for visitors of all ages.

We had a great time staying at this cabin. Very clean and cozy. Jim was an amazing host. He made sure we were comfortable during our stay there. He promptly responded to my texts, sent us a detailed instructions for getting to the neighborhood and around nearby places of interest. We couldn’t have asked for a better host and will definitely stay there again!
We had a lovely stay. The cabin was clean and well kept. We spent time relaxing and looking at the mountain views from the porch. Our host, Jim was super easy to communicate with.
Cabin is just as pictured, clean and cozy. Communicative host! Our family had a wonderful time. The roads to the cabin aren't too steep, and while there are several nearby cabins, it still felt pretty private.
Great cabin at a really good rate. Couldn’t have asked for better. Owner was super friendly and courteous and answered all my communications promptly. Will definitely be going back to this location next time we go to Pigeon Forge.
The entire visit was excellent. The owner was great with prompt communication with every question. The property was immaculate, the furnishing were lovely and every part of the stay was ideal. Thank you so much!
Property was well equipped with everything necessary. Beds were comfortable, location 10-15 min from strip. But the Mountain View was spectacular with the covered back porch facing them. I would stay again. We had room for 2 trucks with trailers and 4 motorcycles.
We had a great time at this cabin for four days. Very clean and had three bedrooms each with a bathroom. There was also a cozy loft. Gated community and the driveway to the cabin was no problem. Beautiful view!! Owner was very easy to talk to and gave us great instructions and ideas for restaurants. This cabin had everything we wanted and we will be back!
The cabin was excellent and was perfect for our family! The furniture, decor, beds, bedding, towels and accessories were all top-notch! All the bedrooms are large, and the loft bedroom was very roomy. This rental was just as advertised and surpassed our expectations!
We hiked in the Smoky Mountains and the drive to the trailheads was easy and fairly close. We loved the privacy and safety of being in a gated community.
Jim was an amazing owner and was extremely responsive to our questions both before our check-in, and while staying in the cabin! We WILL be staying here on our next trip to Gatlinburg!
Check in/out process was smooth and owners (Jim & Tam) were easily accessible, helpful and responsive.
Paved driveway, gated community and convenient location to all areas we came to visit. Cabin was well maintained and clean. Only 30 minutes to Cades Cove, our favorite go to place. Views were amazing, pics don’t justify how beautiful it really was from this cabin. Our first evening we had an unforgettable experience watching a family of bears (mom and cubs) right in the backyard.
Highly recommend! A++++
The cabin was so amazing, it was spotless on arrival. There was so much space for our family. We spent our babies first Christmas there and they even had a Christmas tree which the babies LOVED. Jim was very communicative and friendly and he made the booking process so easy and even gave us really good recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. The cabins’ location was just a short drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which was super nice and convenient. All in all, I would recommend this cabin to everyone! You will not regret it. We are already talking about coming back to this cabin again, everyone loved it so much.
This beautiful cabin had an amazing view of the mountains, and was easy to get to and was very clean inside and outside! The owner was very easy to get in touch with and had great communication and made sure we were enjoying our stay and had everything that we would need and was really sweet! The beds and chairs and couches were SUPER comfortable and made me feel like I was back at home which is important to me when traveling! The hot tub is my favorite part when traveling to a cabin and this one was really clean and was able to fit everyone into and we loved it!! You have great internet connection for those are wanted to use their phones, laptops, and iPads which was really important to the kids! We will DEFINITELY come back to this cabin!!! Thank you again we had an amazing time and experience!!!
I knew from the start this would be a great stay because the owner was so available to help with any question I had. We absolutely loved our stay! Perfect location, away from everything but not too far! The views were priceless.
We spent our first morning in Cades Cove horseback riding. It was an unforgettable experience for our kids. We saw a momma bear with her cubs.
The Ripley’s Aquarium was very interesting and fun!
We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Old Mill Restaurant.
Anakeesta was beautiful but pricey. Overall a very fun experience for our kids and us.
We truly enjoyed having a comfortable cabin to return to each day. It was equipped with everything you need.
So thankful for this stay!

Cabin – The cabin is in a gated community, and in a nice, wooded location. Secure. Quiet. Peaceful. The back deck is so nice in the morning. mountain views, trees, and shade from the sun most of the day. The cabin was well-appointed, clean, and as advertised. Very comfortable for our 5 adults and 2 children. If you sleep upstairs in the loft, there is a portable air conditioner up there – if you are a light sleeper, the noise might bother you. But it was fine for us.
Location – The location was pretty much what we wanted – privacy of the mountains, but an easy drive into Pigeon Forge or the National Park. A 15 minute drive to Dixie Stampede.. And this drive is easy.
Owner and service – Jim is a top-tier owner, and very engaged. Easy to work with, and reasonable. Highly recommended.
We were a group of eight and were in the Smokies for the great smoky mountain Jeep invasion. This cabin is in a gated community, which was a bonus. Kitchen is more than equipt with everything you need, just bring your drinks/food and you're set. Since we were gone most of the time, we didn't use the grill but some did take advantage of the hot tub one night. The owners do give you "starter" supplies, but you will need to bring your own if your stay is more than a couple of days. Suggestions: toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates (if you don't want to do dishes), a box or two of tissues, solo cups (again if you don't want to do dishes). Thank you Jim for sharing for your lovely home with us. *As a side note, this is in countryside so there will be bugs and spiders/webs (and bears). As we are all campers, this didn't bother us. There's a broom provided. Please don't ding the owner on cleanliness just because you may find a spider web here or there, you're in the country. 🙂
We truly enjoyed our stay! My husband, 14 yr old daughter, 12 yr old son and myself stayed for 3 nights. I am very very picky when it comes to cleanliness when staying somewhere away from home. This cabin was extremely clean in my opinion. The description was very accurate. One thing I wanted to point out - we take enough food and snacks so we can actually just stay at the cabin and not have to get out. They have a little cabinet with about 4 shelves that are completely empty for guests to use. I loved this - we were able to put all our snacks out of sight and not have a cluttered kitchen area. We didn't use the loft - but there is a queen bed up there and there are curtains to pull that gives privacy up there as well. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing games of pool and arcade battles, watching movies together in the game room. I guess my favorite part was the views from the porch. It was warm enough one day to sit outside for a long while. It was by far the best views we had ever had in a cabin! (this was like our 7th cabin we have stayed in in the area) The owners were also so very nice. The Roku had gotten disconnected in one of the rooms and Jim came by and fixed it for us the first morning. We got to talk with him for a little while - as I said before, just very nice people. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cabin. Billy & Debbie
The cabin location was great and Jim the host was very informative. The cabin was not as clean as expected and they need more towels when 12 people stay we had to wash towels every night. I’m one of the main floors bedrooms one of the lamps did not work and in the living area there was no light bulb in one of the lamps. And I have used VRBO on numerous occasions for many years and have never been told that could have no visitors we had other family staying nearby but they could not visit .
The cabin is beautiful and in a great location. The beds are fairly comfortable and the 3 bathrooms were perfect for the 7 adults in our group. I would suggest a wifi extender because the internet downstairs would not allow us to stream the football game so we just went upstairs and it was perfect since so close to the router. Overall it was a great stay. Jim was so personable and easy to communicate with.
