We came in on a Sunday with bad weather, the cabin was nice and homie. We enjoyed the stay very much, very nice and well kept. Beautiful view and check in and out was effortless! The owners checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and we were enjoying ourselves! Very nice and we would love to go back!
Awesome Cabin for our entire family. Our extended family of 8 was more than comfortable with Goonie's Cove. Cabin was clean and orderly and had multiple activities to keep our family busy during downtime. Strongly Recommend!
We were able to get our family together for a trip. It’s rare my 2 adult kids and their spouses are free. We had such a relaxing time. The place is great and we loved the location. We saw 9 bears and it was just very surreal to sit and watch them play. Would definitely rent again.
We had a wonderful time staying at Goonies Cove! We chose this place because of the game room to hang out and the things to do there! If you have little children or elderly people staying with you, the stairs are harder to use. However, the pictures show the spiral staircase so expect that! We kept our one year old downstairs and hung out down there because it felt safer.
Wonderful stay! Just what we needed. Easy to access Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and Sevierville.
It was spectacular! We were here for our 13th wedding anniversary with some family and it was absolutely everything we could ask plus more. We also had the experience of a mama bear and her cubs camped out behind the house. This home was an amazing experience. Roads are steep but worth every bit of it! 10/10 recommend!!! Book with Goonies Cove!!!
We had a great overall stay with a total of 7 adults (5 kids - 18-23 years old). Kids had a blast in the game area and hot tub!
The stairs to the upper and lower levels could use a little more securing. They felt pretty unsafe and steep. However, it didn't stop my kids from going up and down!
That's our only complaint. Our stay was awesome!
The property was great for our family trip (us, grown children g spouses)! We loved that every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. The game room was great! The kitchen had just what we needed. The spiral stairs might not work for an older person (or little ones), but was fine for us. The property manager/owners were quick with communication. We loved that the cabin was not too close to other rentals so we felt secluded. Our trip was fantastic and we'd love to stay again for our next family vacation. Thanks!
Perfect place for our family getaway. Beautiful cabin, plenty of space-great for our group of 6 all aged 18-45. Spiral stairs might be difficult for very old or very young but still lots of room of main floor for all to enjoy. Not a bad drive off the parkway-but do a little studying beforehand-we came in late at night in the dark and lost our cell signal so had a little difficulty finding it initially but after that was all good. There was a bear in the back yard with a couple cubs that we could easily view from the deck at a safe distance. so that was a very cool thing to see. Highly recommend!
The property was as listed. They supply a starter pack with toiletries, hand soap in the bathrooms, dish liquid and dish washer packs. The cabin was clean and kitchen was well supplied. There was plenty of room for our family of six. 4 adults and 13 and 17 year old. We loved the game room, we had a blast shooting pool and playing video arcade. The bedrooms were nice size and all have their own bathrooms. Beds were comfy and tv’s in all 4 bedrooms. The hot tub was a plus and we used it every evening. We loved our stay at Goonies Cove and will stay here again our next trip.
The vacation started out great we got to the cabin around 2:30, we called and asked if we could go ahead and check in since our check in time was 4pm, the management told me that they would call and make sure it was ready and let us know. A few minutes later I received a text saying go ahead and start your vacation early. That was great considering we were at the cabin already. We entered the cabin and everything was great except the stairs they are a little small and steep. Not wide at all. Other the the stairs everything else was good.
The cabin was overall as described. Kitchen seemed clean. The parking was tight but not a problem in the summer. The master bed was lumpy and very squeaky. Everytime someone rolled over, the bedroom in the basement could hear. The furniture appears to be the same from the prior owners and could use some updates. We also stripped she sheets at the end of the stay and found the mattress protectors to be stained with red spots. The lot next door is being built and we were only woke up one morning by the crew. We didn’t plan to spend most of our vacation in the cabin, so overall we enjoyed our trip.
Alex (owner) was a great communicator and addressed all of the issues we ran into during our stay. For the location and communication, this would have been a 5-star stay but there just many issues with cleanliness and neglect. The hot tub was not filled when we arrived and was malfunctioning when we attempted to heat it. Alex sent a maintenance team and we didn't have another problem with it during our stay. We experienced a few issues with cleanliness such as the dishes being put away dirty, dead ladybugs everywhere, the coffee maker stored with water in the reserve, trash on the ground below patio deck, and what appeared to be vomit dried on the back of a bathroom door. The propane tanks were both empty which was frustrating. Alex compensated us for an exchange plus the inconvenience. There was an issue with the upstairs bathroom draining moisture into the kitchen which seems to be caused by excess water in the bathroom. There was mold and visible water damage on the ceiling where the leak was so this is a common/previous issue and caused by the shower curtain not being completely in the tub. However the shower tub depth is probably 1-2 inches and the curtain barely fits the length so it seems like it's very easy to accidentally leak moisture onto the floor and has happened before. Alex was a very helpful communicator who did attempt to resolve all of our issues. However, the cleanliness/neglect prevented us from being completely pleased with our stay.
The communication with the host was exceptional! The cabin was great. Nice fit for my family and great location. We were about 10 minutes away from town.
We had a great time and memories were made. The cabin was nice and well represented. They even gave us a heads up about the possibility of ladybugs being present more than normal. They were everywhere but didn’t seem to live long when inside.Overall the cabin was everything we wanted and that was pictured. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
We had a wonderful stay at Goonies Cove! The place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a fun little getaway. Convenient to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay in the Smokies!
Everything was very clean! The house was perfect for our guys getaway golf trip. Great location and the perfect place to escape the tourism of pigeon forge and Gatlinburg but close enough for when we changed our mind to go out to dinner.
Great cabin for our family! This cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The spiral staircase was a little hard to navigate if carrying luggage, but the kids thought it was very cool. The hot tub was wonderful as was the game room. We saw a bear roaming the area one day around sunset and that was a highlight for sure! Yes the road was rather steep and narrow, but that's part of staying in the mountains.

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, location
The grounds were poorly maintained, the bedding was uncomfortable and squeaky, the narrow spiral staircase was difficult to navigate for seniors, there was little to no cell service, making gps navigation difficult for such a remote location
We stayed at the Goonies cabin for a long weekend and had a wonderful time. It is perfectly positioned between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which gave us access to a ton of restaurants and activities. We will definitely stay here again on future trips!
