I love this hotel so much. I have stayed here many times and the service is impeccable. The hotel is traditional Balinese style and the staff are so welcoming, friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and accommodate requests. The food is also INCREDIBLE. The traditional Balinese is beyond excellent. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The hotel changed management recently, and I understand it will be going through a 'refreshment'. I hope it doesn't lose what is unique to Puri Cendana which is the traditional old style Balinese architecture and decor, plus the traditional feel of the hotel. Puri Cendana is unique and special.

Another beautiful stay at this little treasure. Fantastic location, close to beach and lots of restaurants & bars. Traditional Balinese Architecture and lovely gardens. A lovely pool area with waterfall. Poolside massage available. Staff are lovely.

I loved our stay at Puri Cendana. The staff are lovely; the massage place on the premises is the best- the food at the Restraunt is delicious and well priced. The breakfast is lovely and there is a great variety to choose from. The location is great; close to shops and a two minute walk to the beach. Great value for money.

Excellent place to stay, old school Bali accomodation, very large rooms and lush green grounds. Plenty of wildlife around the place, very clean and great staff. Probably not the place if you’re travelling with kids. Overall very happy and would stay again.

We wanted a traditional stay in Bali and we definitely got it. The rooms are on the older side but we couldn’t fault the comfort and size. The staff were wonderful. And the surrounding grounds are just beautiful. The pool, spa treatments & restaurant were great. Would happily stay there again.

The location is the best! It's a 2 minute walk to the beach. You also have plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. The garden you walk through to get to your room is beautiful.

This felt wonderfully Balinese. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the bathroom with the big windows. The pool was fine, close to the beach. It was in the middle of a lot of things but it felt peaceful in the hotel grounds. We would happily stay here again.

Location is convenient with access to beach also the main route to Seminyak and changu. Food is good quality and not expensive, the staff is well trained in service and they are friendly. Great quality for a good price. Rooms very spacious and the staff super friendly. A little point is the busy alley behind the resort where a lot of traffic goes 24/7. But that didn’t disturb me. When next time I can book it for the same price I will do it immediately

Perfect place to stay. You walk inside the gates and you’re suddenly out of the busy streets and in a quiet paradise. The villas are so homely - great AC and comfy bed. Bathroom was super clean and bright. The pool was the highlight for us - listening to the waterfalls you can’t believe you’re only one street off the busyness of seminyak. Breakfast was lovely and we ate dinner at the restaurant every night too! So tasty and cheap too. Staff were so friendly and approachable too. On site massage was great. We obviously loved it and ended up staying an extra 2 nights. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back if we were in the area again!

This upstairs, 2-story Balinese style cottage was huge and full of slightly dated charm. The surrounding gardens made for a nice, surprisingly quiet environment considering it’s right off the road leading to the surfing beach, literally a 2-minute walk. Nice little friendly restaurant with tasty, affordable meals, and the included breakfast offered a deliciously simple smoothie bowl, my choice every morning. Awesome staff overall, so friendly and helpful, always remembering you by name. The large bathtub was another plus, though the hot water unfortunately ran out before a proper filling, however in humid weather still quite refreshing. Morning prayers and incense performed before each deity statue in the gardens made for a lovely awakening. Nice budget-friendly place.

At some point in the past I guess I stopped noticing Puri Cendana as I passed by - it’s been there forever, hiding in plain sight. I sometimes stay at the budget chains nearby when I want to stay in Seminyak - for cleanliness and convenience more than anything else. This time, curiosity got the better of me when I unexpectedly found myself at a loose end for a week. I spent it at Puri Cendana and I’m really glad I did. For the same price, you get a room (with a balcony or terrace) four times the size in a traditional building. Housekeeping did a great job keeping it clean and neat during my stay. The aircon was perfect, the TV had international news channels and there was a fridge/kettle/hot drinks/water. Also a mosquito net if you wanted it. You also get breakfast, beautiful gardens and a neat swimming pool with loungers (some of which are a sun trap after 11am). The staff were lovely. So friendly and helpful. It felt like a family business. Restaurant food was good, and the on-site masseur was amazing. As good as anyone. Location-wise, it couldn’t be in a better position. Two minutes to the beach, two minutes to a busy street but in a quiet spot in between the two. If you are happy to stay in an older property (the room was good enough but the bathroom would benefit from a makeover), you couldn’t choose better. In short, it’s a hidden gem.
