Jacob our host was wonderful to communicate with. The "vibe" in regard to our booking experience and stay was one of rustic relaxation....a true cottage in a beautiful location! We appreciated that everything was clean, fresh and warm upon our winter arrival. The kitchen was so well equipped that the kids and I were able to bake after playing in the snow. There was no shortage of tissues or toilet paper and anything we needed like soaps, dishwasher tabs or tinfoil was available. The linen closet had plentiful towels, blankets and even extra pillows. I would caution families with mobility issues or young members that there are MANY steep stairs to navigate on the property but the views from the different levels are lovely.My only regret is that I wasn't able to spend time and explore in the warmer weather. I believe the sunroom would have been my favorite space...its like an oasis from the rest of the house. It's bright, airy and perfect for enjoying a coffee and a good book.I would highly recommend this property to those searching for a traditional cottage getaway with great views in a community setting.

Jacob’s cottage was spectacular! The view off the deck was some thing out of a cottage magazine. We loved all the wildlife, the quiet, and calm. Everything you need in a cottage, and more, is here. The lake had a few weeds, but far enough out that we could walk into the water with no problems. The paddle boarding was amazing, but we enjoyed the lily pad the most! Only thing we wish there was A/C inside the cottage. It was 33 degrees outside when we were there, so inside was about 27.5. Thank goodness for the fans Jacob had - in abundance! Great place. HIGHLY recommend

New Years Celebration

Stayed here for a few days starting on new year's day. Had some family over and eveyone was happy with the accommodations. Allowed us all to get together and enjoy some family time cooking, watching movies, and playing games together.

A Beautiful Getaway Spot

We stayed at Jacob's Lakehouse September 20-23 of 2024, wish we had booked for longer. Family of 10 and cottage was very spacious. For our family we could have probably used an extra room, but we knew what we were getting in to. There was so much to do, inside and outside, on the lake or venturing off the property like we did. We had 2 kids so we actually went to the Riverview Zoo (free) twice. The view of the lake from the cottage was spectacular. Having 2 dogs, we really appreciate the small things like the gate Jacob put on the upper deck so the dogs can enjoy being out on the patio without us worrying that they will escape to the neighbour's property. I think other than the Senator's poster he has in the basement, the place was just awesome.

Wonderful place for a weekend getaway!

This lakefront cottage was the perfect place for our group of friends to enjoy! The cottage was well equipped, clean, and located on a wonderful section of lake. Would highly recommend and will be rebooking in the future!

Buckhorn Beauty

Beautiful cottage. Very equipped for a large group. We were 10 adults. The pullouts weren’t the most comfortable so we would recommend just sleeping on the couches themselves, or bring an air mattress! Couldn’t get enough of that lake view. We took full advantage of the dock and waterside activities. Jacob was a great host and communicated quickly throughout the weekend.

Canada Day Weekend

Stayed here with some friends over Canada Day weekend, the place is great and has tons to do, lots of space and nice water access for swimming and boating, did a little fishing too. Definitely would love to stay here again Jacob was a great host

Amazing Hidden Gem!

My group of 10 adults was blown away by this cottage. The location and views are amazing, there are so many activities provided and the host is wonderful, responsive, and very helpful. We hope to return next year!

Wonderful retreat

This is a beautiful place to unwind and relax. The property was immaculate and spacious. The host responded quickly to my questions. Everyone enjoyed the kayak’s, paddle boards and the gorgeous sunsets. We would definitely go back!!

Excellent vacation

The check in worked very well. The cottage was very clean and spacious. The cottage accommodated 13 of us (8 adults and 5 children). We used all 3 pull out couches and brought our own blow up mattress. We loved all the water equipment (2 kayaks, 1 paddle board, 1 pedal boat). Also we used the billiards table and ping pong. There are a lot of stairs to the water which we didn’t mind but could be an issue for some people. The cottage is close to Buckhorn. I would definitely recommend Alloro Pizza. One of the best I have ever tasted. The Petroglyphs are nearby and would recommend. The kitchen is well appointed. It did not have a blender and I like to make smoothies. The kitchen table and table on deck are big and was able to accommodate us The cottage comes with bedding except for pull out couches. The water is very weedy but that can’t be helped It is a lovely spot and we would highly recommend

Relaxing weekend with a great view

Our group met over Canada Day weekend for a nice relaxing retreat. The cottage is a really great place. Clean, welcoming, well furnished with many things for our enjoyment. The basement is always cooler than the rest of the house, which is great for hot days. We all honestly had a great relaxing weekend. Only small "issue" (which has nothing to do with Jacob and the cottage itself) relates to the quality of the lake water. The kayaks and the canoe are amazing and a great opportunity to go on the lake, but swimming is less fun than we had hoped because of the high concentration of algae's and the overall "muckiness" of the water. Again, nothing to do with the host and the cottage per-say, but if the group intended to spend some time swimming in the water, you might find yourself somewhat disappointed.

A perfect weekend getaway!

Jacob’s lakehouse was everything we hoped for and more! The location was perfect - close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to feel like we were in our own private oasis. The cabin was very spacious, clean and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We especially loved the private access to the lake, free to use water equipment (paddle board, life jackets, pedal boat) and the beautiful views from the deck. Jacob was very friendly and accommodating, - he was welcoming of our dogs and large party. Thanks for a great time Jacob! We can't wait to visit again :)

Fun weekend getaway

I went with a group of 10 and we enjoyed our stay this past weekend. First, the property was very clean. My biggest concern when renting a place is the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was all extremely clean, and I liked that there weren't crevices where dirt could build up. The water pressure and heat were phenomenal! The house had everything that we needed to cook. The water toys that Jacob allowed us to use were lots of fun, and there were plenty of life jackets. Checking in was very easy and Jacob was always very responsive and timely. It was a pleasure communicating with him. I would recommend using google maps to find the cottage, as the neighborhood has many small roads and it's easy to get lost. There are also lots of flying insects, so bug spray is a must (which is to be expected as the house is right on the lake). However, there were no bugs inside the house! It was wonderful. Also, if you need to go into town for any reason, there's one about 15 minutes drive away. My favourite part of the cottage was the sunroom. It was so relaxing to lounge while taking in the view. Other members of my party loved the game room and especially the ping pong table! The cottage is laid out in a way where people cooking in the kitchen could communicate with people in the dining area and living room, so it wasn't isolated, which we really appreciated. Overall, my group had an amazing time, and Jacob was a wonderful host. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway for the weekend.
