Minni-Borgir Cabins

  • About this space
    We welcome you to visit our beautiful cottage at Minni-Borgir Cabins. The cabin’s location is by a little village of cottages Minni-Borgir, where you have all the amenities you need.

    Near the cabin there is an out-door play area for the children and a fantastic restaurant only a stone's throw away.
    The space
    The cabin is 69 sqm (about 740 sqf) on two levels and can host up to seven guests. The lower level has a common area with a kitchen, a main bedroom with queen-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen size bed and a bunk bed, and a bathroom. The mezzanine (upper level) has two single beds. Note that the mezzanine can only be accessed via stairs.

    The cabin is heated with radiators.

    The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare a simple meal. There is a four plate stove with an oven, a medium size fridge, a dishwasher and a microwave. Cookware, utensils, glasses and dishes are provided for 8-12 persons. Towels, kitchen-towels and, dish-washing liquid and soap for the dishwasher is also provided.

    Bed linen, towels and face towels are provided. Requests for additional linen or towels has to be made two days in advance of your arrival.

    The cabin has a private patio with a sitting area, a propane BBQ and a hot tub.
    Guest access
    The cabin and its immediate surrounding area, is yours for your enjoy. Additionally there is a children's playground for the young ones.

We had a fantastic time during our stay. Me and my partner and our two college-aged kids had plenty of room in this small house. we enjoyed the bbq, eating on the deck and the hot tub. we cooked each night and there was adequate cookware. The host was very friendly and helpful and gave us recommendations to see the area. Perfect spot to tour the Golden Circle and a short drive to Selfoss. Note that the local restaurant, on site, is open limited days--we were planning on eating there but it was closed most days we were there. Recommend this cabin!

Cute cabin with wonderful hot tub

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin and it was a nice place to stop along the Golden Circle. The cabin was cozy and clean. We enjoyed watching the northern lights from the hot tub. If we came to this area we would definitely stay here again!

This is a beautiful location, very clean and cozy. The beds were very comfortable. Northern lights viewing was great (even from the bedroom window). We didn’t know how to turn off the outside lights which may have improved our viewing. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Rooms and cabin were spacious and comfortable. Floors were heated and that made walking barefoot nice and comfortable within the cabin. Checkin process was smooth and worked flawlessly. Cabins were not marked clearly on the outside. That would have made finding them easier. Location was right off a major road and had proper signage leading to the cabins. Host was extremely communicative and reachable. He apprised me constantly with checkin process and other relevant pertinent information. Family loved every bit of the cabin stay. The bunk beds were an absolute hit with the kids. Beds were comfortable. Living room was large and spacious. Patio deck had awesome tables and chairs. TV worked flawlessly. There was more room than what we encountered at other accommodations in our tour in iceland that it was a bit of a happy surprise. I was seriously bummed that we didn't stay here for more than a night. Heartily recommend this cabin stay to any families considering or planning their iceland vacation!

Such a wonderful cabin! The hot tub was such a treat after a long day along the Golden circle. Everything was super clean. The views were beautiful and it was serine. The restaurant on site was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend and I wish we could of had a longer stay!

The stairs were pretty treacherous. The couple we were with were not comfortable climbing up or down, so ended up sleeping on the couches downstairs. I missed that we had to clean the place, so we weren’t happy about that. Other than these two things, the place was great.
