We decided to get away for the new year at the last minute. All things considering the beach seemed like a viable option. Seaside Park was quiet. The house was in perfect order, the interior paint colors nice. The bed was comfortable. Our 4 yo grandson joined us for the first night and he loved sleeping in the top bunk. The corner faux fireplace is a great addition to the downstairs. Sheets and towels were provided and there were paper towels, napkins and tp. Had to make up the beds, but it was nice not to have to lug all that stuff. Additional blankets and pillows were stored in the hall closet. We hit the beach for shelling and the boardwalk from end to end. Not crowded and most folks were masked. Nice location for sunset viewing. While much is closed for the season we were able to get curb side pick up at Bum Rodgers for dinner our first night. Formosa Bakery in Ortley served for our breakfast. Internet was down much of our time there which meant we had very little options for tv viewing, but we were able to use our phone for music. The cable company was working on the wires, but I guess they were not able to get things working. We headed to Pt Pleasant to take the grand to the aquarium and purchase seafood for our dinner, a nice morning. Weather held up and it was pleasant for Dec/Jan in New Jersey. Got a Marucas pie for lunch when the parents stopped in to pick up the 4 yo. NYE dinner was cooked in the kitchen which was fine for putting together a meal for two. The house next door had bright lights on 24/7 on either side of the garage which really made using the porch less than desirable. And with the weather as it was we could have spent time there. The string lights across the porch are cute but not needed because of the neighbors lights. Roll up blinds on that side on the windows would be an improvement. The interior overhead lighting is stark. We moved a lamp from one of the bedrooms to the dinning room. The bathroom is fine. We vacation each summer at another home on the street and like the location. This home is a comfortable, clean and cute place. Would be great in the summer. Would recommend. Beats a hotel room by a long shot!
