"We had the best time at Lamangata - the hotel is stunning. You can tell Hernan & team take immense pride in the property, as it's impeccably cared for. The pool is also an absolute dream.
One thing to note is that the property functions a bit like a chalet, with a setup designed to encourage interaction among guests. If you are open to this, it’s a massive highlight. The rooms are beautiful and offer sweeping views over the vast forest all the way down to the ocean.
The surprising highlight of the trip was the unbelievable food. Chefs Eladio and Tony make everything from scratch, and it's all delicious.
For activities, my friend took surf lessons and had a fantastic time, learning a huge amount in a very short period. Junior (the head coach) is an incredible teacher. Even though I didn’t surf this time, watching them made me want to come back for a dedicated week of learning!
Location-wise, the hotel is situated up a long gravel road, so having a 4x4 is definitely helpful. However, the hotel team is also great at getting you wherever you need to go. You can't walk anywhere directly from the property, but it’s only a quick 10-15 minute drive to the nearest small town.
The only minor inconveniences were that the Wi-Fi and the air conditioning in our room could occasionally be a little unreliable. However, the staff always sorted it out quickly, so it really didn't impact our stay.
Overall, Lamangata is a truly special place. I can't wait to return!"
