The hotel was very helpful and flexible when I had a problem with arrival for my booking. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom looked as if it had been recently renovated. No cable TV, but instead there is an Amazon Fire Stick which supposedly allows you to watch online. The guy set it up for me but then the power went out and I never got it back. Not a big deal for me. What I did find strange was that although power outages are common in all of the DR, there was no backup, so if power in the street went out I was plunged into darkness. Maybe it was because it was low season with few guests at the hotel, so perhaps they save on using a generator. Overall though, a good experience and I would return.

Das Hotel ist ok, wenn die A/C Filter sauber sind

Am Wochenende sind die meisten Hotels in Boca Chica von Wochenendgästen aus der Hauptstadt ausgebucht. Das Hotel Calypso hatte am Morgen des Samstag noch Zimmer frei. Das Hotel ist für einen Kurzaufenthalt geeignet, ich habe schließlich das 3. gezeigte Zimmer im 3. Stock akzeptiert. In einem funktionierte der alte Fernseher nicht, in zweiten die Aircondition. Techniker war keiner verfügbar, so wurde mir jeweils ein anderes Zimmer präsentiert. Der freundliche Rezeptionist war sichtlich überrascht, als ich ihn bezüglich der Klimaanlage auf die Reinigung der Filter ansprach, ich vermutete darin den Grund der schlechten Funktion Es wäre eine Leiter nötig gewesen diese zu kontrollieren, was offensichtlich im Reinigungsprogramm der sonst sauberen Zimmer nicht inkludiert ist. Diese Ignoranz gefährdet die Gesundheit, deshalb meine schlechte Bewertung. Vom inkludierten Frühstück haben wir nur den Kaffee genommen.

Nos demandes pour 2 chambres côte à côte n'ont pas été respectées, également les climatiseurs étaient défectueux. Au moins le personnel du service déjeuner a fait tout pour nous accommoder.

We had a booking but the rooms were not ready even though we arrived late at night. When we got the rooms, it did not have toilet paper or enough bath towels. On asking the staff, they immediately provided it to us. It was obvious that the rooms need update. There was white residue around the sink faucet, water was not hot enough, etc. On the positive side the staff was good, they cooked us hot breakfast and the property is walkable to the beach.

The hotel doesn’t know about the reservation until you present your email confirmation. The room is advertised as a 2 queen size beds but it is 2 full size beds,it’s not dirty but they needs to do a deep cleaning. The breakfast is surprisingly pretty good.

Everything fine EXCEPT traffic and music outside very loud so hard to sleep.
