"We stayed in the Vintage Family Room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The lake view was beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The room itself was large, although the property feels a little dated and could benefit from some updates, especially replacing the carpets in the hallways and rooms. Unfortunately, because of the rainy weather, we weren’t able to use the outdoor pool. The indoor pool required swimming caps, which we didn’t have with us, and the reception had run out of them. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The best part of our stay was definitely the breakfast—it was excellent, very complete, with plenty of options. The restaurant also had a beautiful view. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed our time at the hotel."

"We were privileged to stay in this palace. When driving up to the building you get a feeling for the grandure, but on entering the reception it's jaw droppingly impressive. The staff were very helpful and happy to share their knowledge of the history of the building. The breakfast was excellent. The woodland grounds are beautiful, we spent a day exploring with a picnic (you have to be fit, it's very steep in places) The room was clean and functional but not at all luxurious. Come to this property for the amazing architecture and beauty of the forest, not for the room."

"If you’re driving watch out the hotel is easy to miss, it’s on your right hand side as you go up the steep narrow street. If possible turn into the side road just before the hotel and park near the junction. The hotel car park is not far from there. Lovely quiet situation but not far from the town centre. Nice room with comfortable bed. The staff are friendly and helpful."
