This was the perfect house for my first trip to California. Such cool, retro and casual style. It checked all of my boxes for sure. The property has lovely flora and gets visited by a lot of avian fauna.
The house faces east-west and has patios at both ends, so you can let the breeze from the ocean blow right through the house, and control the temperature based upon time of day by just cracking the east door a little more or a little less. Watch the sun set on the west patio while you enjoy the view of Santa Cruz’ three beaches, and then come watch the moon rise on the east patio. Santa Cruz in July may be earth’s best weather. Cool mornings and sunny, warm afternoons.
It was the perfect sized house for our two families. The whole first floor was the domain of our kids, who loved the game room.
The kitchen is well-appointed for a beach house. Lots of stuff here. The property manager was generous with the towels and very helpful. The shower has great water pressure. I wish my shower worked that well.
Did I mention how beautiful this property is?
Minor quibbles:
- there could be better lights in some rooms.
- couldn’t figure out the TV
- internet connection is un-great, but there’s a Starbucks w/ google fibre a block away
- my bed was firmer than I prefer. YMMV.
- It would be nice if the property used the lock-box system of key exchange. Driving to the property manager for keys is a minor inconvenience.
