Description:
La Casa Colibri ‘The Hummingbird House’ was designed to take in the lake views from every room in the house, cascading down the mountainside with huge amounts of glass framing in the panoramic views of Lake Atitlan and surrounding, perfectly cone-shaped volcanoes.
At approximately 5200 feet above sea level, the Lake Atitlan area enjoys year-round spring-like weather (70s to low 80s during the day and 60s at night). Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all.
La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire house, minus the laundry room. If guests would like to have any laundry done, the housekeeper will be happy to accommodate those requests.
Other things to note
As part of new regulations inacted by the Guatemalan tax authority in January, 2023 (Acuerdo Gubernativo 245-2022), all businesses are required to submit an official government invoice for all sales in excess of Q.2500; failure to do so could result in a fine for the hosts (i.e. property owners).
For citizens of Guatemala a tax ID # or DPI number is required along with your name. For all non-Guatemalans a passport number along with your name is required in order to issue this official government invoice/receipt.
We are aware that you were required to provide this or similar information to register on Airbnb, however the hosts are not provided with these details.
