Newly remodeled Parakeet cottage! Walking distance to beach, restaurants, shops!

The Parrot Nest is one of the Old-Sanibel cottages located on the quiet East End of the island. Since 1955, our charming cottages have been welcoming visitors and until the early 1960's they were brought to our shores from the mainland by ferryboat.
Our cottages are newly renovated in a coastal decor offering you epic comfort, relaxation in a beautiful room. We are within walking distance to the historic Sanibel Lighthouse and fishing pier, beautiful shelling beaches, shopping and restaurants.
If you like, use our complimentary bikes and explore miles of paths covering the island and leading to wildlife refuges, kayaking spots, secluded beaches, and meandering past more eateries, shops, and galleries. The Parakeet cottage is a charming one room with a queen and features a private patio with an outdoor dining table, chairs and umbrella.

This was a cute little cottage close to the beach. Wonderful lighthouse restaurant next door. Bikes were conveniently available for use.

1st time in Sanibel it was perfect

Beautiful sunset, beautiful weather Will go back again and Parrots Nest was the perfect place to stay. Within walking distance to so much and renting a Moke to cruise around in was icing on the cake

Great little spot

We loved the east end of Sanibel and this place was just right. Great communication and cute little place in a great spot. We loved Wikies and all shops just a three minute walk away, as well as how quiet the area was. Lighthouse beach was easy, especially with the bikes. Buy/bring bug spray for calm wind days but overall it was wonderful.

Great Get Away

This little cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It is in the perfect location on Sanibel Island as well. We used the complimentary bikes to ride around, got to know the island and visit the beaches. I highly recommend this little gem. The restaurants and stores nearby also do not disappoint. I highly recommend and will stay here again!

Great location and super clean! It was quaint we loved the private patio, use of beach carts, towels, and chairs. An ice cream store next door- score!! The beds are comfortable. We will visit again!!

Clean and great location.

This was a great location, 15 minute walk to the Lighthouse beach. Near coffee/ice cream and our favorite restaurant Grandma Dot’s. The bed was comfortable. It was also very clean. Our only complaints were the laundry wasn’t working and the kitchen supplies could have been better. We would stay here again for sure.

We chose Sanibel for our 40th Anniversary trip and we were so happy to find your little cottage. It was perfect for the two of us. Thank you for all the shells that we found on your beautiful beaches! The people on the island were friendly and the restaurants were delicious!

Tiny Cottage

The cottage is cute and clean. Bed was very comfortable! We enjoyed the general area and ease of getting to areas of interest. Nice restaurants and shops nearby, but not close enough (for us) to walk. The beach is a 2 min drive away, so convenient. We will be back!

Lovely, quiet cottage near beach

Clean, cute cottage in close proximity to others but still very quiet and private. Easy walk to beach. Nice supply of beach stuff. Kitchen was adequately equipped with dishes but very little cookware. Some cooking utensils and bakeware would be a great addition, along with additional pots. Couldn’t take advantage of the stove.

Do it!

If you’re thinking about staying here, do it. It’s such a fantastic property, close to everything, and the staff are all so friendly. Take it from us though: walk around the property! They have a ton of beach stuff that we didn’t see until we were leaving, lol. Great stay and can’t wait to come back :)

The cottage was impeccably clean! Appreciated all the renovations. The young couple managing the place could not have been more helpful. They went out of their way to help me when I needed it. The bikes need maintenance - rusty chains, wobbly handle bars, breaks that freeze up. You could use some more kitchen tools. I was glad to have the kitchen as parking at the beaches cost so much money! Thank you, great stay. Grey

Excellent location to beach, tiny, clean and cozy, great for 2 people, the free bike and beach accessories are a plus. Would stay again.Side note: if small critters freak you out, may give a second thought. Lots of lizards, frogs, and even iguanas. I thought they were cool but just FYI Only draw back is the kitchen is beyond bare minimum.

Sanibel Dreams come True

This little cottage was very quaint, perfect for a quick girl's getaway. Situated in close walking distance to Lighthouse Beach, small shops and places to eat. I much rather prefer little places like this, that have all the basics of a low key but enjoyable area. It was just what we needed to enjoy all Sanibel has to offer.

Great Communication

Sweet liitle efficiency cottage. Excellent air conditioning. I was really impressed with how responsive they are when asking questions about visitor parking and such. Bikes were awesome and location was great. If we come back to Sanibel we will stay at Parrot nest again.
