Outstanding location with beautiful views. I highly recommend the beach view rooms. Room was outstanding and had many amenities including a fantastic shower! Breakfast was delicious. Staff was lovely and well trained.
Location was hard to beat. Overlooked the bay and marina. Short walk to pinxtos and beach. Rooms were very clean with a Juliet balcony Staff was great. Rooftop was amazing. In hotel, prices were a little high
Staff were helpful, but the room was quite dated and did not match 4 stars, despite several lights, the lighting was poor and room was not user friendly, as badly laid out. À la carte breakfast was a hit and miss. Poached eggs were undercooked, with runny whites, whereas scrambled eggs were solid, could have used as bricks.
This is an excellent hotel. The location could not be better and the rooftop is magical. You are literally in the best location in San Sebastián. Comfy bed and friendly helpful staff. Would have loved a non news channel in english for relaxing in the room, but that's a minor point.
Everything was perfect. The welcome, the arranging of transfers, the rooftop bar, the service. The room was incredible. Comfortable, superb beds, fridge, Aircon, view, bathroom (especially the toilet!). Location couldn't be better. It was a festival on our last night but the hotel thoughtfully provided ear plugs. The soundproofing of the windows was excellent anyway. A pinnacle of hotel experiences.
Our room on the second floor was incredibly noisy due to the food elevator bringing provisions from the kitchen located in the basement to the ground floor. This would start at 6;30 in the morning and would be heard every 5 to 10 minutes. I cannot state how loud it was preventing us from sleeping.
This is a tremendous insult to the guests near rooms 101, 102, 103, etc. All they said was “sorry about that.” They must be fully aware of this problem, but they just could care less therefore I would definitely not recommend this hotel especially for what they charge a night for a room.
The only main issue we had was the breakfast we had to return the breakfast due to eggs not being cooked enough, they were nearly raw.
The other recommendation would do not book your flight transfer taxi as we were delayed due to the plane was late , we had to pay for the taxi and rebooked another taxi , which was very expensive. So take a Uber it is safer .

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
We have stayed at this LASALA in San Sebastian many times in the past 8 years and have rated it one of our top hotels in Europe. No longer. From the moment we entered we were aware of a coldness and lack of excitement. Being told to sit in low lying seats for reception and check in, signing a list of “hotel rules” almost being lectured by the staff on what to do and not to do put all of us in a contradictory and defensive mood. Looking around the lobby and restaurant we noticed no one was there. And this was true over the 5 days of our stay. When questioning the staff they appeared timid and unsure to make any comments other than changes in both decor and walk in policy for dining or cocktail had been made. The hotel went from an atmosphere of high end vibrancy to dull lifelessness. The menu offered was limited and the food was marginal.
Let me also emphasize a few things. The hotel was clean and the restaurant, rooftop bar, and cleaning staff were very good. Reception staff was not cold to say the least.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Easy access to the beach and great rooftop pool/bar. Right in the middle of the action, but just far enough away from the main streets in the old town that it’s quiet and restful. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.
