My keypad didn’t work getting into my room and had to be remote in. There’s black mold on the floorboard by the shower. I paid an “amenity” fee which included my breakfast credit. When I went to the shop location, they told me they had no idea about a “credit” but a discount. The staff was very helpful and super responsive. But even with that, when I asked for my amenity fee to be reimbursed since I didn’t receive it, they had to check with their boss, I.e. I’m not getting that back.

The property and the hotel was nice and clean. The only thing we didn’t like is everything has to be checked in through your mobile phone. and the code to get inside your room, you have to press really hard your code number otherwise you get locked out in

Yeah you can see a decent ocean view just over the freeway. Not big but still decent view. 7min drive to the pier bowl. Surfing donuts across the street is good and sanchos tacos down the road also good. Room has roku tv.

Housekeeping was a little inconsistent with what was completed each day but we always had fresh towels and that’s what mattered most to me. Hotel front desk was super helpful. Clean and comfy beds. Would stay again. San Clemente trolly was not operating this time of year so that was the only downfall as I had chosen this hotel for the convenience of not having to drive to the beach and pay for parking but parking rates weren’t awful after all.

Always loved staying at Surfbreak very welcoming staff and accommodating! Especially the property manager Julie who is very understanding and welcoming! Parking is good and free, the breakfast at SC cafe is chefs kiss and location of this place is good! It’s nearby me and my partners favourite places such as the beach which is at least less than 5 mins away and our favourite local burrito place. Will definitely come back. Keep it up surfbreak!

I was really disappointed with my stay at Surfbreak Hotel. When I first arrived, I had trouble even getting into my room, which set a frustrating tone for the trip. Once I finally got inside, the floor was sandy, like it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. The sink had a very strong, unpleasant odor whenever I turned on the hot water, which made it basically unusable. On top of that, I found hair in both the shower and the bed when I arrived, which was honestly the biggest red flag. For the price and the location, I expected much better. The issues felt like basic cleanliness and maintenance problems that should have been addressed before anyone checked in. I really hope the hotel improves, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t stay again.

We arrived around 630 with no means of getting into our room while standing in the rain. It took 30 minutes to get in touch with anyone to give us access. It was not very clean or nice inside, stains on wall, warped floor, very rough used towels. Woken up throughout the night to noise guests and a 2am text from hotel asking guest to be respectful. Will not stay there agan!!!

This not a hotel, they added cheap modern-looking finishes to a motel and rebranded. The room was missing requested crib so our baby had to sleep in bed with us. The mattress was terrible - very soft, clearly not supported underneath so it slouched to the center and felt dangerous with baby. The flooring was splintering at the seams. It was somehow so hot even though cold and rainy outside that I had to run AC all night. The room advertised an “ocean view” - it was really a “highway view” with a sliver of ocean behind. The room was cheap, so you get what you pay for.
