good place to stay.

have stayed a few times, always a good stay .only downside this time was I had interior room, no windows...like a dungeon except for that as usual the hotel never disappoints. staff wonderful, friendly and polite, breakfast 100% perfect...lobby bar area very nice and comfortable...

Great place to stay. An oasis in Samarinda !

the room was perfect.. clean comfortable and even hot water worked perfect…many hotels have no hot water but this was great . the restaurant for Breakfast was beyond perfect. Great great selection ! they even poured my tea and brought more when i was out. the dinner menu was extensive and food was excellent ! Service and friendliness of restaurant staff as well as ALL STAFF was EXCELLENT.

Please improve Wifi Connection

In general, staying at this hotel is fine and good for value too. B-fast set was great. Only one condition needs to improve, message to hotel manager, they need to improve wifi connection speed. As known, Samarinda network is bad, I am using Telkomsel. O have been years traveling to East Kalimantan, don't why Samarinda has bad 4G connection till today if I compare with Balikpapan. I would say, I was depending on wifi hotel to get access to the internet. An unstable wifi connection was another inconvenience condition for my stay.

Old hotel and need renovation

This hotel is a bit old and need renovation. Breakfast is not variety but the service is quite good for check in. I don’t like the beds because it is not good anymore.

Not staying there again

Decent hotel but the service can use a lot of improvement. Also while the room price is reasonable - expect to pay a lot of money on food, minibar, laundry, etc. Final note: there is no dryer and washer even though the hotel description claims to have it.

A Museum Visit

Samarinda is a medium sized city by Indonesian standards. The hotel is one of two business centers. The rooms are below average for what we paid on Hotel.Com. Suggest they lower the price by $20. We traveled to the museum at Tenngarong (18 km away) which is well worth seeing for Indonesian culture.

The Aston is good hotel and conveniently located in the heart of Samarinda. Condition and service is good, but the internet is very poor in room and even the public internet is quite slow.
