Secret place in the Swiss Alps

Easy and quick access by train with the Mont-Blanc Express as well as by car.
If you are looking for a magical place, off the beaten track, you have found it. In a village of 60 inhabitants, suspended and protected you will quickly feel out of the world.
Our chalet is a bohemian and cozy hut built in 1850 on the passage of the old diligence road connecting Martigny to Chamonix. The surrounding nature makes this place a wild, authentic and powerful refuge.

The chalet is 65 square meters and 4 meters under ceiling. It consists of a large main room with entrance, living room, kitchen and mezzanine, a bedroom and a bathroom. The chalet dates from 1850 and has been renovated while keeping its original state as much as possible. In the center of the chalet, a pellet stove (wood) diffuses the heat and allows you to admire the flame. In the living room, you have a video projector, a very large screen and a catalog of films that you can watch. You also have a bluetooth speaker (Marshall) for your music and wifi. Each piece of furniture, each object was picked up and chosen in a spirit of bohemian-chic decoration. Tap water comes directly from a source and is better than any mineral water.

The view from the chalet overlooks the forest.

A small covered balcony as well as a large terrace and a large garden are at your disposal.

The Gorges du Triège (to visit! ) are just at the entrance of the village. The historic route of the stagecoach route also starts from the village.

The village chapel ...

In winters, a free shuttle picks up skiers and tobogganers directly in the village to take them to the Marécottes cable car. The tourist train takes you in 35 minutes to the slopes of the Balme area in Vallorcine. (There is a train + ski package). You also have access to the other ski areas in the Chamonix valley.

In summer, the famous rock-cut swimming pool of the Alpine Zoo is less than ten minutes away on foot. The Alpine Zoo (the highest in Europe) is open all year round. (Like his cozy restaurant)

The region is a great place for hiking. You can also practice canyoning, paragliding, climbing, ski touring ...

In a few minutes, by train (or by car) you will find:

-store, butcher, bakery, cafes, restaurants, bankomate ...
- Rental of bikes (mountain bikes) and electric bikes.
- rental of sports equipment
-indoor swimming pool
-climbing room
- Marconi museum (inventor of radio)

In 23 minutes, you are in Martigny if you want to visit the Giannada foundation. Add 25 minutes and you are in the thermal baths of Saillon!

With the little tourist train that takes you through spectacular landscapes, you are in an hour, at the foot of Mont-Blanc, the roof of Europe and in the middle of Chamonix, world capital of mountaineering with its history, its streets cosmopolitan, its boutiques and elegant hotels.

Finally, it is an ideal place:

for people seeking calm
for sensitive and curious people

ideal for a romantic stay for two.
ideal for a family with 1 or two children over 7 years old.
ideal for two couples of friends.

quality of the place:

calm, beautiful, atypical, unique, organic

weak points:

little soundproofing between rooms

Travelers access

1. To access the chalet by train (23 minutes from Martigny): take the Mont-Blanc Express (Martigny-Chamonix line), Le Trétien stop. (Do not forget to request the stop by pressing the "stop" button when you hear the announcement of the village "Le Trétien"). Then, from the station, you go down to the tarmac road which crosses the village. Once on this road, you will see a fountain and a few meters further, the public toilets. Opposite the toilet, there is a small lane which descends. The chalet is on the left of the lane and it is the second house you come across. You are at number 7, rue de la Plantze.

Our chalet is recognizable, there are blue flags in the garden.

2. By road: after your arrival in Martigny, take direction Salvan, then Les Marécottes. (approx 15 minutes). After passing the Marécottes zoo you will arrive at Le Trétien. You cross the village with the car, you pass in front of the public toilets, in front of a parking lot on your continue. Then, at the exit of the village, the road descends. You make a lace and you come back to the village and you do not descend further, you stop at the parking lot right next to the old school. From there, you walk up the cobbled lane around 150 m pass in front of the chapel, then in front of a pass in front of a garden terrace on your continue to climb and you will find number 7, rue de la Plantze on your right.

The district

The village of Trétien is literally hanging on the mountain and surrounded by forest. The village is in itself a unique place which gives the impression of being lost in the depths of the world. Arriving by train at the small Trétien station suspended in a vacuum is something to do at least once in your life!

A refaire :)
