"Very beautiful hotel, staff are very kind and accommodating. The food is absolutely delicious. It should be noted, however, that from Aswan airport to the property will run you 900-950 EGP as of April 2026. The property is located at the top of a mountain and is very difficult to get to, and taxi drivers/hotel shuttle take advantage of this. It was not a nice surprise after getting off the plane and trying to find a taxi for over an hour. Hotel is very nice, but I would recommend they fix the showers to not leak so much water. There are also quite a number of birds which make the balconies dirty, which is unavoidable unfortunately. Overall, if this is what you are looking for, considering the isolated area, beautiful scenery, and price, it was a nice experience. "

"The staff were exceptionally polite, friendly and attentive, always going out of their way to ensure guests felt comfortable. A great example of this was when they kindly prepared a packed breakfast for us as we had to leave at 4am for the Abu Simbel tour. The food was excellent, with both breakfast and dinner offering a wide variety of delicious options, much of it traditionally cooked in tagine pots. The hotel also stands out for its eco friendly approach, using solar energy to provide hot water. Located in a traditional Nubian village, the hotel offers a genuinely authentic atmosphere. The area is filled with stalls selling local crafts, souvenirs and spices, and it felt incredibly safe, with many vendors even leaving their goods outside overnight highlighting the safety and honesty of the local people. "

"Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded from a standard room with a garden view to a suite with a patio overlooking the Nile, which was a lovely, newly-renovated room with a stunning view. Very clean, air conditioning worked great, black-out shades. Breakfast buffet was solid and had a lot of different options (e.g., omelet station, yogurt bar, fruit, some hot Egyptian dishes, rolls and pastries, meats/cheeses, pancakes, etc.). Dinner was a la cart and was delicious. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating, especially the restaurant staff. The car transportation to/from Aswan airport was a bit expensive relative to normal transportation prices in this area at $35, but the driver was great and on-time. I'm not sure how the garden rooms are at this property, but I was very happy with my stay!"

"Great staff, the hotel is a short drive from all ppints of interest. I want to especially thank Reham from the concierge, she was excellent and had great communication. She made the stay very smooth and relaxed. "

"Felt very private and the property has fantastic views of Aswan from up top. That said, it also means it's a bit less convenient to get into town especially by foot. The property is also connected to the main Basma hotel slightly down hill which is bigger and busier, so that's both a private and a potential issue for some. But because the Exec Club is more private, service was more attentive and privacy away from heavy traffic was better."

"We had a wonderful stay at Kato Waidi Nubian House. The staff were incredibly polite, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything we needed. They arranged all our transportation smoothly and made our stay completely stress-free. The traditional grilled dinner was excellent and felt very authentic. We highly recommend staying a couple of days to experience and explore the more traditional side of Nubian life."

"There was piss and feces all over the toilet and on the floor. There was no staff available. The room phone was not picked up by anyone as there was no one at reception. There was no hot water. The TV didn’t work and numerous attempts going in and out the room to fix it. Children shouting and screaming in the corridors. I didn’t feel welcome after making my complaints known I didn’t feel safe. Despite conveying all this to finally finding someone that worked there they still charged me for three nights even though I didn’t stay more than an hour of dissapppintment trying to resolve the issues. Hotels.com were complicit in not helping and have done nothing to get me a full refund. I would highly recommend AGAINST booking at this dump and not using hotels.com in booking hotels due to their lack of concern once they have your hard earned money. Lost a household of four clients "
