Mixed Experience – Friendly Staff but Hotel Needs Attention
We recently stayed at this hotel and while there were some positives, the overall experience didn’t quite live up to the advertised description.
The exterior of the hotel looked quite tired, with broken planters and many dead plants, which didn’t make for a welcoming first impression. Around the premises, there were numerous hotel-related items such as bins and gas canisters left in plain sight, which added to a general feeling of disorganisation.
Our room was functional but clearly in need of updating. The carpet had seen better days, and the bathroom floor felt uneven due to loose flooring beneath the lino. The bathroom itself had mismatched tiles and noticeable black mould in the grouting, which made it feel neglected.
Breakfast was adequate, but not as described. While it was enough to start the day, there was no fruit, jams, marmalade, or Marmite as advertised, which was disappointing.
On a more positive note, the hotel is very dog-friendly, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful, which we really appreciated. For the price we paid, the stay was just about acceptable, however, had the hotel matched its advertised standard, we would have been more than happy to pay a little extra.
With a bit of care and attention to maintenance and presentation, this hotel could be a lovely place to stay.
