We’ve had a fantastic stay! Our suite was very spacious, with a large bathroom and views overlooking the valley. Food and wines at the restaurant were delicious. The staff and owners went out of their way to make this a wonderful stay. Highly recommend!

Beautiful setting. The room was lovely and large with a terrace. Unfortunately no air conditioning but the room had a portable fan. Food was amazing. Staff very helpful. Pack insect repellent for the evening.

Un château sans sens

Un bel endroit mais les chambres ne sont pas bien équipés. Pas de cafetière, pas de bouteille d’eau, pas de frigo... Quant au restaurant: les plats sont médiocres et le petit déjeuner si petit qu’il est presque invisible.

Un bel endroit mais il y a pas mal de choses qui manquent: - des gobelets dans la chambre sans rien à boire. - un restaurant impressionnant sans prétention mais avec un menu décevant. - le petit déjeuner sans véritable choix ni de fromages ni de confitures ni de viennoiseries.

Lovely, peaceful hotel in the countryside

The hotel is lovely and quiet. The restaurant was excellent and both nights that we ate there we almost had the place to ourselves. The views out over the valley were beautiful. It is a bit far from nearby villages but if you are looking for a relaxing place to chill and enjoy the country you will really like the Chateau de Sanse. St Emilion is about a half hour and we had a wonderful time there. We drove to Bergerac (40 mins) and did laundry and had fun shopping there and having lunch.

Total relaxation and great value for money

Peaceful location with beautiful view. The hotel was beautiful and the restaurant was good. Staff was friendly and we received highest service. We had the suite with terrace which was spacious and great value for money. We did day trips in the area. St Emilion is 20 mins away.

Wonderful Place! Would Love to Come Back!

This is a very nice hotel situated in a beautiful old Chateau. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, the hotel's staff was incredibly nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful! The breakfast buffet was much nicer than what we have seen in other French hotels, and the restaurant is top notch - with amazing views of the valley that the chateau overlooks! We will definitely stay here again when we pass through this part of France!

Clients négligés par le personnel de l'hôtel

Après 5 nuits passées à l'hôtel, nous avons voulu, en rentrant de notre journée de ballade vers 20h30, dîner à l'hôtel. Il nous a été répondu que cela n'était pas possible en terrasse puisque ces tables étaient réservées aux clients de l'hôtel !! Nous avons pourtant mangé dans ce restaurant à deux reprises mais l'ont nous a visiblement pas reconnu. Mécontents, nous sommes sortis dîner à l'extérieur après avoir fait remarquer au responsable que notre chambre n'avait pas été faite... Le lendemain, au moment de payer la note de la semaine, nous avons eu la désagréable surprise de constater les erreurs suivantes: - une bouteille de vin facturée à tort - 4 petits déjeuners pour deux facturés à tort Pour un total de 145 euros !!

Make this a destination

Everything about this place is wonderful. Close to St Emilion and the wine region. The place is really special and the food and service are exceptional. This is a destination hotel. Make sure it's on your itinerary.
