This town, originally settled by Mormons in the 1800s and ultimately abandoned when Lake Mead was formed by the construction of the Hoover Dam, is now a protected US archaeological site and can be accessed on a 2.5 mile hiking loop from the St Thomas Trailhead. The trailhead is about 4 miles down a dirt road near the entrance to Lake Mead National Recreation Area by Valley of Fire State Park.

Staff was nice. Room was clean. Bathroom is a little dated. Pool and hot tub were not working. Would be nice to know this especially after a long day of hiking. We were looking forward to this so it’s a little disappointing otherwise we had a good stay. Free breakfast
