"The property is utterly stunning and immaculate. We enjoyed our stay a huge amount and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you for an incrediblySpecial few days, only small thing would be that the wifi is very temperamental but there had been some storms in the area. The towels, sheets and beds were of the highest quality and the views breathtaking"

The hot tub made it extra special and the staff were friendly and welcoming from start to finish. Perfect for a relaxing getaway in a great location. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!"

"What can I say? We walked out after 1 night despite paying for 2. We took our business to another pub which appreciated us & our spend. Terrible customer service/relations, the "manageress" either needs to re-assess how she treats customers or get out of hospitality. In addition to the terrible customer service the property is not as it appears. You do not stay in a country pub, rather pre-fabricated chalets in the grounds behind the pub, these are sparsely furnished with little storage (if you are maxing their capacity) & noisy (main road runs past the pub and once the HGV's start moving you hear them A LOT) The paths down to the beer garden and on to the chalets are overgrown on each side & in a bad state of repair with very loose paving slabs which, if stood on at the edge will tip over - I lost a pint trying to get down to the beer garden. The beer garden has what looks to be rabbit run in it, this is empty & overgrown it looks a state. The food offerings - with exception of the continental breakfast were poor, my daughters pie was gravy flavoured water with a couple of lumps of meat & my wifes had to go back as they'd omitted the chicken from her chicken & mushroom oatcake. There are FAR better hostelries within a couple of miles of this place (we found a REALLY good 1) that are much friendlier, cleaner, have cheaper food & are still within 20 minutes of Alton Towers. There was no "1 incident" there's more negatives & far more to this story - but I've ran out of words,"

The rooms were beautifully presented, combining comfort with a touch of luxury, and the views were simply breathtaking. What truly made the experience special, though, was the sense of calm and care throughout the entire stay. It wasn’t just a place to sleep—it felt like a little escape from the world, and one we won’t forget anytime soon."

Family cottage, Peak district and Alton Towers - pet friendly

"Good for a local stay for exploring nearby amenities and if your out and about. I would say more comfortable for a family of 5 or 6. Was a squeeze in the living room area with places to sit but dining area and conservatory was lovely! Main downside of our stay is going as a family of 7 and seeing this place sleeps 7 on listing with a sofa bed but actually means someone just to sleep on the sofa. Contacted host which replied quickly saying it says on listing to sleep on top of sofa and says to bring your own bedding which I believe isn't on the listing. Luckily a family member had a sleeping bag in the car but we would of been stuffed otherwise. Car parking was ok, did have two cars and was a lottery ticket to get a car parking space over in the lane over the road but we managed. Overall good stay and would stay again. "
