My cabin was freezing. I would say this is an average hotel but you’re paying for the Possibility of seeing the lights from your room. The food options weren’t great. There were too many families so that tempered the romance for a lot Of the couples there. However, our guides For the activities were phenomenal.

Aurora cabin was a likeable place to quiet down and if the weather permits, you’ll see the lights from your cabin. But there was no curtains for day time and it feels very bright to be in the cabin to rest. The room service tablet wasn’t working and was never replaced with new ones. When we went there, the snow was powdery and not good for any snow activities but after a frw days of snowing, there were snow mobile activities and we missed the chance as we didn’t know that it was available on the day. Would be nice if did the snow mobile. Food was very delicious 👍

Great place really well run. Super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed 5 nights in Feb 2023 in cabin 17, which was great. Cabins 1 to 20 are at the northern most edge of the resort, so you have nice views north of trees and the aurora, and not looking at the backs of more cabins. Top tip, there is a path not shown on the map from opposite cabin 17 direct to reception. First morning we went to reception and arranged activities for every day with the super helpful staff there – snowmobiling, dog sledging, reindeer sleigh ride, and aurora lake trip, all of which were great fun. Good views of the aurora from the warmth and comfort of our cabin when the clouds cleared. Views from the lake (and on route to the lake) were even better due to darker skies. Thanx to Lancashire Matt for a great fun snowmobile ride along interesting back route paths on Lynx 600cc snowmobiles – they were pretty easy to drive, with no gears and lovely heated grips. Dog sledging was with 5 dogs pulling, one person sitting in the sledge and the other driving / hanging on for dear life :-D Swapped driver and passenger half way. Lovely scenery, but very chilly, so I'd recommend wearing a ski mask. Reindeer sleigh ride was nice and sedate, at walking pace, nicely wrapped up warm, again through nice scenery. Transfer from and to airport was organised by the hotel for 70 Euros each way. Contact the resort in advance to request transfer. The office is not manned at weekends, so contact them in advance on

The Northern Lights village was a great property. Mother nature didn't cooperate with Northern Lights but it was a good stay. Travelers should note that this property is closed for the summer and opens in September and runs with limited staff and services until the busy season starts in November. Cabins were amazing, food was very good and staff was very friendly so would definitely recommend.

To start- issue w pick up from airport. I let it go took public bus but the hotel interrogated me about it & no apologies- unprofessional. I’ve taken hundreds of trips rarely leave reviews bc never had an experience this bad. Aside from Finnair losing ALL my luggage, hotel was not sympathetic, did nothing to try to help. This is a “high end resort” Mind you! I’ve stayed in hostels w much better service. They don’t have luggage service anyway I saw elderly guests lugging their luggage far away to their cabins in the snow in the cold... Front desk is full of foreign employees who know nothing about proper customer service / communication. Obviously there are serious issues w management. Most of the staff stand around conversate w one another... None of the employees in the hotel greet the guests as they arrive/leave. Most of the servers in the restaurant don’t greet guests, aren’t attentive do not tidy up tables or food areas well. Cabins are adorable, scenery is beautiful but the cabins are too close together, you have zero privacy as everyone can see inside the glass. Many hairs all over my bedding & floors. The wool blanket on the bed was never washed. I understand the hot water conservation/toilet/plumbing situation (eco-friendly) will let that go but inconvenience. Didn’t go to sauna but I heard negative things. Food was mediocre not many options. My driver Aleksi was awesome so was the reindeer guy (both Finnish) My friend also was unimpressed

Fantastic place I’ve just spent my 50th Birthday here , the resort is fantastic they arranged a cake and some Fizz for my birthday . The room and facilities are great the bed is comfy and just to lay on the bed watching the sky. We did the snowmobiles and huskies and reindeer trips absolutely fab time .

Best Igloo Experience in Lapland
Amazing experience, highly recommended. If you're looking to experience Glass Igloos in Lapland, look no further, they are extremely equipped with excellent amenities and very comfortable! The breakfast and dinner were amazing too!

Had personally visited a few igloo cottages but this one is the best.. they gave designed the entire property keeping guests preferences in mind.. Great dinner spread too.

Wifi went down quite often. Whenever it went down, we could not contact front desk. We need to call via mobile. Then we're given buzzer for the aurora alert. It's also not working.... But the cabin was very nice and cosy.

Very little privacy, the aurora huts are lined up in rows and if you standing everyone outside can see right into the hut. The place was clean and comfortable overall but the site had far too much light pollution from the hotel and the town of Saariselka for northern lights viewing. It was more of a tourist trap than anything else. We much preferred the Aurora Village in Ivalo which seemed to be more of a family run place, with privacy in the aurora huts and far less light pollution.

We have a room to check in early, but the in-room WiFi is not that good, we cannot use the tablet service provided. The breakfast is awesome with variety but dinner is not that recommended. Luckily We joined the tour for hunting northern light, else we don’t know where is good place to shot northern light even the strength is weak. The husky ride also good to join

We are so lucky to see northern lights at a clear sky night in the village. It is not a strong one but we could see it clearly in the camera. The village itself has organised wide range of activities. The northern light hunting tour is a must to join, in case of a good weather in forecast. The price of the activities maybe slightly higher in general, but I do think it is worthwhile to join.

Lovely place to stay. Staff very friendly . We didn't like the fact we were charged to have our bags taken to our room. There was also a charge to use the sauna and for the alarm for the northern lights. 15 euro per night. A bit pricey we thought.

Great Holiday
What a amazing experience, seen the Northern lights from the cabin, the cabins are lovely and the views are amazing. we had a meal in the Ice restaurant which was also lovely. the trip they run are all well priced for the area and pick you up from reception. the only thing what lets it down is the food choice.

Great for northern lights but average otherwise
The Aurora cabins have a great view and we actually managed to see the northern lights from our cabin, definitely a highlight of our stay. In general, the hotel was average in terms of service. There was no room service, we had to even drag our bags from the reception to the cabins ourselves in -15 C. The water boiler in each bathroom is not very effective and the water at best was luke warm. The hotel staff is however courteous and you can also book all activities from the hotel itself.

The Best Experience EVER...
We had an unbelievable experience staying in one of the magical glass igloo’s. We were also lucky enough to see the northern lights from inside our igloo...all I can say is Wow! The igloo was really cosy inside and had everything you needed. The Ice Bar was a great experience and the food in the restaurant was great. I would like to say a huge thanks in particular to Katri and the housekeeping team. They arranged an early check-in for my girlfriend’s birthday and also left a lovely note and some chocolates which was very kind. There are lots of activities to do such as aurora hunting, husky rides and snowmobiling. This was without doubt the best stay we’ve ever had and worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Different staff gave different information
Everything is wonderful. The cabin is perfect. There is just some misunderstanding during my stay. The reception told me I do not need to make any booking for the shuttle the next morning to the bus stop. And it is €5 per person. In the morning, another lady at the reception said there is no driver because I didn’t make any advanced booking. And the shuttle is only to the airport. I have also received the welcome email that stated clearly there is a shuttle to the town for €5. The staff need to be more knowledgeable. This causes me to almost miss my bus. Eventually the staff tried to help me as much as they could and I am thankful. Please do not give the wrong information next time. There is also no free coffee in my room although the welcome email stated so.

Bad experience in Finland
The worst experience ever. This is not what you expect for £450 per night - no wifi, no slippers, no shower gowns, no house keeping service, no complementary bottles of water. On the instruction, it says hot water will come back after half an hour but my husband had to take cold water shower after longer than an hour after I took shower. Restaurant was always full of group tourists - noisy, kids laying down on floor or running around. Extra charge for every single thing. The worst part was - hairs everywhere when we checked in - on the floor, at the shower and even on the bed. Also I have reserved as full board but they said I only reserved as half board so I have to pay for extra. After showing my booking confirmation I could have lunch. Really didn’t want to ruin the trip but it happened. Not run by people who care about traveller’s mind and heart. AT ALL. Over valued. I will never recommend to anyone.

Amazing staff and fantastic location.
Amazing customer service and care. We arrived from an exhausting trip from London that turned from an easy 7h to 17h, with nothing but the clothes on our back at 2am to a warm fire, hot dinner, a delicious birthday cake for our son, and best of all helpful/caring staff. Throughout our stay the reception team tirelessly assisted in trying to locate/recover our luggage (no thanks to Finnair) and we were very lucky this hotel had all the needed snow gear (free of charge to use throughout the stay) so we could still enjoy the activities. Incredible new Ice Bar, great food, cozy clean rooms, etc...would recommend this hotel to anyone. Looking forward going back there again soon.

Amazing Stay!
It was a great stay with very friendly staffs. The newly opened Ice bar was cool with staff Malga being extremely friendly in telling us about Finland. My tour guide was amazing in telling us the wilderness of Northern Finland. Too bad we couldn't catch the Aurora Light otherwise would rate this as my most memorable experience!

Lovely friendly staff who made our honeymoon perfect! They were so thoughtful management left us with a small bottle of champagne and flowers in our cabins. The breakfast and dinners were amazing?

A mixed bag! So many hiccups along the way.
We stayed at Northern Lights Village for 3 nights. The staff at the reception are polite. However, there were many issues that developed. 1) We booked to go on Husky ride/tour through the hotel, 2 hour slot starting at 10am. We arrived at the reception at 9:30am and no one from the team arrived till 10:20. At 10:20, we were driven to the point where the huskies are, only to find that it was deserted. We were then told that our ‘huskies had been taken by a rival hotel’. After a great deal of fuss, we were told that we would be re-booked for a 12pm slot. Once again, we were waiting for quite a while in the reception and the organiser arrived late, at 12:20. Disappointing time management and time keeping. 2) We booked to go on the Aurora hunt by the Lake on two days. Both the days, sadly, we didn’t manage to see the northern lights as it was cloudy. These tour on the first day ran late and was completely mismanaged. Disappointing again! Beware - the hotel is advertising trips for Aurora hunting even when the forecast is for thick cloud, and a low KP index, and there is no refund / rebooking if you don’t see the lights. 3) Despite several reminders, the hotel mismanaged our transfer to a nearby hotel for the airport bus. We had to leave our cabin on foot and drag heavy bags through the snow, to the reception. We nearly missed the airport bus. Extremely disappointing and stressful. 4) Sauna not working!! Sadly, would not recommend this hotel. Fell below expectations.
