I really enjoyed my stay. The street was busy with tourists during the day but totally quiet at night. The location is the highlight of the town, with short distances to the train station, restaurants, groceries, attractions and so on.
It did not matter to me but the restroom in on the second floor via a narrow stair. The kitchen had most everything I needed (except meals of course.) I really like the outdoor patio although it may only hold up to 4 people.
Glare is a very nice person and helped me get in after I arrived.
Rye is one of those towns like Brugge, Belgium and other towns I have visited, that are in a time warp, not compromised by modern development and sprawl. Touristy but all the nice old towns of this quality are that way. Still, the tourist component is mainly on the weekend.
The close train station allows one to easily get to Hastings, Bexhill and the other nice places along the coast.
I made the right choice.
