"When we arrived the place was very cold 14 degrees and a window was open. We turned up heat, closed window and went into town, returned 3 hrs later. After returning, apt warmed up to 17 when thermostat was set to 20. And also - a very pungent sewer smell was pervasive in apt. Guessing that is why window was open when we arrived? "I had a great stay at The James Hotel Rotterdam and would definitely stay here again. As a solo traveler, I felt safe and comfortable throughout my two-night stay, which was very important to me. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and much better than some of the reviews I had read beforehand. The location is excellent—right in the heart of Rotterdam and within walking distance of plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés, as well as the metro and tram, making it incredibly convenient to explore the city. I also appreciated that the air conditioning worked well, especially during the warmer weather, making the room very comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and found this hotel to be a great choice for anyone visiting Rotterdam. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it, especially for solo travelers."

"The property is in a perfect location and it’s a nice hotel, modern and well kept. It’s located walking distance to the downtown core, there are many restaurants close by to choose from. My only issue was room design in that there was a huge concrete pillar just inside from the windows in the middle of the room. No pictures of their rooms show this so I would advise that when booking, demand a room without this “feature” when booking."
