Clarion suffers from aging infrastructure. This unit is next to a golf driving range and we got one of the rooms with a hole in the window from an errant golf ball. We parked away from the flight path, but at least 3 other guests had their cars hit while we were there. The staff were great. The facilities were a bit threadbare and the pool and hot tub were closed. The value for the cost was very reasonable.

Rented 2 rooms & 1 reeked of cigarette smoke. We told receptionist and she sprayed room with air freshener. There were only 2 towels in each room. Internal/external phones didn’t work. Office staff had puppy that peed on floor. We met kids/grandkids for spring break & we picked hotel for indoor pool. We got there & first thing grandkids did was put on swimsuits & we all went to pool to find green algae patches all over bottom and a 1/2 filled jacuzzi with brown water. Receptionist said the pool was closed and I asked why that wasn’t advertised… kids on spring break had ONE request! ONE! So we found a different hotel with working phones, rooms that smelled good, & an open pool. We were charged for 2 nights right when we checked in. We said we wanted a refund. At first she said she could only refund the 2nd night. I insisted on both nights because we had only been there less than15 minutes and all the stuff I just mentioned. The receptionist finally agreed & she showed us the total refund on the computer screen before we left. I paid on a credit card and my daughter paid on her debit card. Her bank showed the charge for 2 nights, the credit, then a charge X 2 that doubled her payment. My credit card showed a charge, a refund, then a charge to add both nights back on. We tried to call 3 numbers & phones don’t work. We tried to email & that was returned as an invalid address. We had to dispute charges w/our banks. (Writing this 10 days later)

This hotel needs an overhaul. The rooms are a good size and has potential but it has a lot of deferred maintenance. Our first room has an overwhelming stench of mildew and sewage backup. Found out that the bathtub does not drain so all the wastewater backs up into the tub. We requested another room. The other room had a large break in the shower pan that was covered up with a plastic liner. The shower curtain was also too short allowing water to get all over the bathroom. There was a tree air freshener hanging in the room which was covering up some other scents. A lot of other areas need attention, broken lampshades, burned out lightbulbs, hair that wasn't ours, chairs that are worn down to the point of no cushion, sink aerators that are clogged, trash under the bed from previous guests... the side door is propped open all the time. breakfast had some areas of concern too. the cream cheese is not refrigerated. It's kept out at room temperature constantly. the scrambled eggs have a strange texture, it may be just the way the powdered eggs are. the pool was not working either. a lot of things added up to this not being a good experience. hopefully the owner can see this and address it. it has the potential to be a nice property if they take care of the deferred maintenance.

A/C did not work. Staff asked if we would like to change rooms to the second floor, but we decided not to since we were tired and didn't want to move our luggage. Hallways do smell strongly of tobacco, but our room did not. Pool was freezing cold, so we did not get to use it.

Went to the room. It was room 114. The room had a bad musky smell. The bathtub had brown colored mess. The 1st bed had blood stains on the sheet. Im looking for a refund but havent got it. I was told we dont give refunds. I tried calling and got no answer. I was told the pool was open. We got there and the pool was closed.

The back entrance door was propped open when we checked in, and was still propped open the next morning. We assume it was never locked all night. There were full garbage bags setting in the hallway when we checked in at around 6 PM. They were still setting there when we checked out at 9 AM the next morning. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. We had to go to the desk to request it. The breakfast was not well stocked.

Cancelaron mi reservación sin aviso previo y sin compensación, llegué a las 10pm a hacer check-in y solo me informaron en el recibidor que había una fuga de agua y no me podían recibir. The only reason I booked at this property was because the other hotel I usually stay at I was booked as were many others. The only other hotels I could find were very expensive and this one. I've stated that it had a continental breakfast as well as a pool and hot tub, which I was looking forward to so I chose this one. Pool and hot tub out of order, no blanket on bed, floor not clean, HORRIBLE smell that attached to my clothes and luggage. Rude and slow staff. "Breakfast" was a joke. The only way I will stay here again is if I have to be in Roswell, and it is the only the hotel available an even then, it would be worth driving farther into Artesia.

This was probably the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Upon entry, you could’ve immediately smell, marijuana and smoke even though the property was supposedly a non-smoking property. When you got to the room, you could definitely smell the musty air. There was black mold all over the bathroom ceiling. There were other people‘s hair on the sheets as if the sheets have never been changed. If you go and look at Google reviews, you can see that other people have shared very similar experiences. Luckily, we did not experience the bedbugs.

This was probably the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. There was mold all over the walls and ceiling. The floors, both carpet and tile were covered in stains. There was trash on the floor. The room and bathroom smelled horrible. The bathroom door didn’t close. My son and I woke up feeling sick. I would recommend anyone stay far away from this place. It should be condemned.

The rudest staff i have ever encountered in 50 years of travel. They had their wi-fi portal closed, told if want internet to use my phone. The breakfast was disgusting, old scrambled eggs, no breakfast meat, the girl at the front desk said that is all as she is just front desk, this was a 8:20am, soon 5 other guest came in and she got up and brought out 2 bagels and one muffin. As all of us were finishing our breakfast, coffee and talking to each other, she came in a 9a and said nothing but turned out the lights, which was done again on my 2nd morning, which i got up and turned them back on as we were having coffee and talking, and what is funny, after they run everybody off, they turn the lights back on. the 2nd morning when i turned the lights back on, some woman that works there came iin and started yelling at me , do not be rude and just walk in and turn out the lights on everybody without some kind of announcement. No manager around, we were told the owners are stuck out of the country due to the Iran issue, but it was like no one on this staff cared about the 6-11 guest that they turned the lights out, the 3rd morning i went and bought my own sausage egg and cheese biscuits and instant coffee, which both were 10x better my 4th morning for check out2 scoops of egg in the pan, 2 pieces of sausage at 7:45am, and the waffle maker was l turned off. Remove this property from Expedia
I wonder if the Fire Marshall has seen this one?

I booked this hotel for 2 reasons, an indoor pool and breakfast. The pool was closed for an unknown reason with no known reopening. Breakfast was slim. Waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage, cereal, bagels and muffins. If you’re not there early they do not replenish. When I asked for more they told me it was closed. 30 mins before breakfast was supposed to be done. The bathroom in the room was not clean there were wrappers and the soap was already used. There was a hair clump in the tub and the floor looked like it had blood splatter on it. The end table was sticky and gross like something was spilled and not cleaned up. I understand this was a cheaper hotel. But, I’ve stayed in cheaper motels that were cleaner than this place.
