Hotel Casa Scaligeri

10/10 Excellent

"This fantastic location, just steps from the Castle entrance, was only topped by the wonderful service of the staff. Agatha, Alesia and Nicola were simply amazing. Free breakfast at Scaligeri 1948 is an added bonus as was the special discounted tasting menu at La Rucola 2.0. If you are going to Northern Italy, you need to find the time to spend a couple of days in Sirmione. While the Castle and Grotte are nice, make the time for a private or semi private boat tour on Lake Garda and spend a few hours at the Thermal Spa too. The Thermal Spa is a necessity to sweat off all the calories you will take in from the gelaterias on every corner! You must also try Lugano, the local wine."

"We loved our stay here and if we were in the area again we would stay again! We were staying over my boyfriends birthday and the staff (Micol and Deborah in particular) were so helpful, I got in touch before our stay and they helped arranged a bottle of bubbles for arrival and then a cake to be delivered at breakfast. We then had a lovely room with a balcony with great views too - very modern & lovely and clean! The staff were extremely helpful during our stay, helping arranging taxis too - nothing was too much of an ask! The breakfast spread was great, good fuel for busy days and the Hugo spritz’s from the bar too were delish. Good location too, a slight walk from the main centre but that was great for us. It was lovely and quiet back at the hotel and the sunset walks along the lake were beautiful. Overall we had a great stay and I would highly recommend!"

"This is a lovely hotel and much better than 3 stars suggests. Our room was clean, recently refurbished and comfortable; the staff were excellent; and breakfast was really good (lots of choice) - in a room with a great view of the lake. We borrowed beach towels and a travel plug as ours didn’t work and nothing was too much trouble."

"Great 5 star hotel in a beautiful location. The restaurant is very very good, high class, but not cheap. At the front of the property you are 100 meters from a huge choice of Italian restaurants and a great lively atmosphere.. The only downside I would say was that after the initial allocation of 4 coffee pods in your room you then had to pay 2 euros per pod thereafter, very petty for a 5 star hotel."

"The hotel is in a super location on the lake, with stunning views. The hotel rooms are quite basic and dated. Carpets in hallways dirty and threadbare. Restaurant food was good, but service over our 5 day stay was incredibly disappointing and impersonal. We were constantly chasing staff for service, which was very annoying. The breakfast set-up is poor, disorganised and no one really in charge to keep things running smoothly. The pool and spa area are lovely and definitely a highlight."
