「We spent a night at this lovely place on the outskirts of Montagu. There is a feeling of being out in the country, without actually being too far away from the very pretty town. The room is nicely furnished, very good bed. The views from the private patio are wonderful. Very good breakfast. Unfortunately we didn´t do the tour of the Botanical Products manufacturing, on site - where lovely organic beauty products are lovingly made. We hope to do that next time!」

「From the moment that we checked in, Mike and May the owners made us feel at home. They are such friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage was up a flight of steps and Mike carried our cases up for us. Everything anyone could need was there. Spotlessly clean. A very comfortable bed. A sitting out area overlooking their gardens. A very safe and secure area from which we walked just a short distance into the town. Highly recommended. 」

「Overall we had an excellent stay, however a couple of things. Other guests didn't respect the no noise after 10 PM rule and were quite loud which made it very hard to sleep as obviously in tents like these you hear everything. Also, we were struggling to enter the property when checking in. We were supposed to use the code for the gate received by email, but we weren't able to check our email and we were stuck for half an hour, trying to call the emergency number to no avail. 「An absolute find in this beautiful part of the Karoo. The atmosphere and style is that of a traditional Game Lodge. The food is excellent with a team to match. There are several designated walks within the estate for all levels of ability. The one thing we noticed is how immaculately clean the whole place was, with the pool being the cleanest we've experienced throughout our travels in SA. 「Our stay was great. The host was outside and greeted us when we drove up. She directed us to our room (an upgrade) and explained the services, mainly breakfast since it was winter. Speaking of breakfast, the hot plate was delicious, a great start to our morning. Only issue was the cold. It was in the high 30s/low 40s and there was no heat in the room or breakfast area. The extra blanket helped, but there was no where to sit that was a reasonable temperature. The staff we met were all fabulous....

「We’ve stayed 3 or 4 times at Excelsior, and, as last visit, had a wonderful time. The setting is amazing, Kirstin who runs it is lovely, very efficient and an amazing cook! James who is maitre d’, is also very personable and helpful. Both of them make sure your stay is top class. There’s a golf buggy you can use to look round the vineyard. 「We had a great one night stay when taking the NCCR (New Cape Central Railway) wine tasting train in Robertson. Good walking distance to the raiway. Friendly staff, great beds, excellent location and stunning gardens. I especially loved the sculptures in the garden. We bought some food and wine after the train, and had a stay at home tapas dinner. The staff helped us to make a fire, and we sat outside in the fall evening enjoying the lovely outdoor space 」
