Clean, spacious and peaceful

My partner and I travelled from Auckland to Matakana for a weekend away. We took my elderly mother with us and the accommodation for our trio was Perfect!! The Room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. The area is quiet and right in the river. The only issue we had was the mosquitoes- which was our fault for leaving the doors opened because the weather was so perfect!! The room did provide Bug Spray which we were grateful for!! We totally recommend this property!

The bach itself is well appointed and each unit is situated for amazing views and privacy. It was a very relaxing stay.

Nice view from property but definitely make a trip down to tennis court and swimming pool as the view from the riverside is great.

It was welcoming and I like being able to shut the extra bedroom to give privacy. Everything was in top condition and there was good heating plus laundry facilities. It was very quite. NOt aware of other guests. I could 't say a bad word. We stayed there about 4 years ago and the place looked brand new.

UNEXPECTEDLY NICE !

Love this place! Perfect for our fam weekend getaway ☺️ Very clean n generous with their furnishings/supplies, well heated, nice gas fire place n their Weber BBQ was so handy for our impromptu BBQ. Friendly/polite receptionists ! Will definitely return ❤️

Great property and facilities. Rooms had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Quiet with great views and located near Matakana township for restaurants etc. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Something to consider in Matakan region

Relaxing spot in Matakana. Bit out of town so a car is a must and self catering no restaurant on site or in close proximity. Odd lay out in the Bach however that may not meet everyone's needs if more than one couple staying - but has a kitchenette, sitting area and deck with clothes washing facilities.

Great weekend away at Riverside Matakana - has everything you need. Stock up supplies at your local grocer (Matakana Village) less than 10mins by car from the bach. Retreat to your bach and enjoy the views! Staff (Michael) at front desk is polite helpful and accommodating

Perfection

Riverside Matakana is lovely. Beautiful, spacious, well-appointed stand-alone modern baches. Our third stay and we would return in a heartbeat. Gas fireplace for winter, outside deck and BBQ for summer.

Beautiful peaceful place!

Went there for daughter's birthday party, with a group of teenage girls, love the place, very quiet, suitable for big group, we had a BBQ for dinner and all equipment are provided, towels are big and fluffy not a cheap quality. Love the detail on the cushions, a rug even the pictures that have a touch of a photo, a symbol of New Zealand on it, nice touch! Too bad the river was a bit dirty maybe because of strong wind and cold weather so the girls don't want to play there, but it will be perfect in the summer! Good staff, been calling a week before to ask questions before we go and always helpful on the phone. Definitely will go back, better go in a group, if you have small kids not much activities around but good for bigger kids so they can go hiking, canoeing and beach are close by.

Luxurious Bach close to Matakan

Beautiful luxurious Bach with awesome views over lush hills. Ideal for young families. Very close to Matakana Village. Will visit again.

Vineyard and country views for a relaxing break

Fantastic place to stay. A little out of the way, but more than compensated by fabulous views and amenities. A fabulous place to relax - we are keen to return.

Beautiful surroundings

Wow! What a beautiful place! From the beginning it was a great experience. On arrival we were warmly greeted. We were given good suggestions of places to dine. Our bach was amazing. Way bigger than expected. Very nice decor. Great that there are two bathrooms. Comfortable bed. We highly recommend Riverside Matakana.

Nice modern relaxed

Nice modern relaxed feel to units and friendly assistance from the team there made this a great spot to explore the Matakana area from, whilst also having a great base to chill out and make use of the jetty, tennis court and pool. Kitchette a bonus.

보석 같은 곳입니다

부모님, 저희 부부, 아이들. 총 6명이 뉴질랜드 여행을 왔습니다. 어제(2017.10.10) 숙박을 한 느낌을 적어 봅니다. 한 마디로 보석 같은 곳입니다. 쏟아지는 별과 함께 최고의 숙박을 했습니다. 숙소의 품질도 매우 마음에 들었습니다. 한국에서라면 하루에 50만원 이상은 받았을만한 숙소인데 가격도 상대적으로 만족스러웠습니다. 벽난로를 켜니 따뜻하더라구요.

If you want Matakana 5 star, this is it....

Excellent facility, high end accommodation, extremely good attention to detail, very well appointed, nothing too much trouble. Location was perfect for us, lovely and quite, just love the gas fire, cozy but spacious, all the utensils plus some in the kitchen and beautifully manicured grounds. Was arriving late which was no issue at all, asked for extra pillows and blankets, again, not a problem. Lovely beds, perfect softness for us, fabulous sleep, tranquil evenings, just what we were after, well located to Matakana and surrounding area, felt relaxed and refreshed when we left.... Have stayed all around the world, this is a real gem which more people should know about ....we will return !!!!!!!

Perfect spot

Second stay at Riverside Matakana - it's just amazing. Great little bach-style units with everything you need. Only niggle was a faulty dishwasher, but I'm sure I was just unlucky.
