From the moment you step foot through the main entrance to the hidden paradise of the Santa Teresa Hotel you are made to feel most welcome. The staff are lovely. Our room was gorgeous. The food delicious. And the view! Wow!

This is beautiful old colonial style house that has been turned into a boutique hotel. If you want to stay away from the beach area and hotel strip, this is a wonderful stay. It is very quiet and relaxing so keep that in mind when booking. The staff was amazing and helpful. Tip: book the higher level rooms for more space and better views.

1. Terrible bathroom - ridiculous design and unsafe, plus the shower controls were awful. 2. No 110v power - the hotel provided a transformer which gave me an electric shock. 3. No elevator 4. The summing pool area was unusable as the floor was being replaced - ok I get that / but no notice given beforehand or discount offered 5. Dinner was very average at best This hotel is exclusive and expensive - it should have been better

Hotel charmoso com ótimo atendimento

O hotel é ótimo, super charmoso, com atendimento atencioso e gentil. O restaurante também é muito bom. Só fiquei um pouco decepcionado porque o deck da piscina estava em obra, com um tapume que impedia a vista. Com certeza a vista é um dos atrativos do local. Não fui avisado antes da estadia dessa condição.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of Santa Teresa . Loved the ambiance. Spa was great. Rooms are a great size and Clean! Breakfast was amazing every morning. I would definitely come back here !

Beautiful Property with Beautiful people

The people really made our stay special. Always willing to help and go out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Wish they had luggage racks in the room.

This will go down as one of the best properties we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at plenty across the world. It was even rated as one of the best places to stay in the world by Forbes in 2023. I have already started to look at the MGallery properties and am looking to stay with them as much as possible. Fantastisk byggnad, bra service. Området runt hotellet är mysigt och en upplevelse om än lite stora nivåskillnader. Hotellet är definitivt i behov av en restauration då många områden inte lever upp till lyx nivå.

This was our second stay and we honestly can’t fault the exemplary service levels we received and the quality of food in Tereza Restaurant. The staff genuinely make you feel welcome and are so helpful. Whilst we appreciate renovations need to be undertaken, we hadn’t been informed before our arrival that the views across Rio would be obliterated by hoarding. The pool area wasn’t ideal for a relaxed stay which is why we’ve given a 4* rating. Please don’t be put off because MGallery offers a little bit of quiet paradise in frantic Rio!

Pros: Great location in Santa Teresa. Very nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Nice heated pool, long enough for laps. Nice garden and bar area. Cons: We had a deluxe room with balcony. The room (#14) was very small and there was nothing to put up our 2 suitcases. Putting them on the floor made it difficult to walk. The bathroom also did not have enough space to place toiletries.
