There will never be another place. I would like to stay to get away from people other than the place that I stayed in the room that I stayed at this hotel. It's not a hotel. It's a home with staff with people that treat you so well that you will regret the day that you have to leave. The ownership has done a great job. See you soon

My entire experience was amazing to say the least. The owner is welcoming and greeted me upon arrival. The personal chef is exceptional. It’s located in a gated community and the view is exceptional. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.

Ive stayed in many different places all over the world and I truly have to say that this is the overall best hotel Ive ever stayed at. Let me breakdown why. So, first of all, there is the actual house, which is basically a work of art. Then there's the location of the house which is on a cliff with stunning views in a very safe and beautiful neighborhood. Then after all of that, which would sell me on a place already, then comes the best part of the experience at cliffside which is the people that work there. Any need you have, any information about Rio you're curious about, the staff and the owner there are always on hand to help you. Ive never felt so taken care of at an accommodation before. So I just want to say thank you to everyone at cliffside and to the reader of this review who's never been there, book it!

Paolo, the property manager at the cliffside property, was exceptional. He was incredibly attentive to the needs of the tenants, and he made sure that our stay there was as easy and comfortable as possible. He was always available to answer any questions or concerns that we had, and he was always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with all of our arrangements. Marcello, the owner, was equally impressive. He clearly took great care in the upkeep of the property, and it was evident in every detail. The property was beautifully landscaped and has a lovely history that made the stay even more enjoyable. Andre, the in-house chef, was truly a gem. He was easily one of the kindest and most welcoming people that I have ever met. He cooked with his heart, and it was evident in every dish that he prepared. Overall we loved it here! They always took the time to chat with us, and he was genuinely interested in getting to know us and making sure that we were happy with everything. It's not too far from Copa and Ipanema but just far enough. Would recommend it to anyone.

Disappointing Experience - Not Recommended for a 5

This hotel fell short of expectations. It's not a 5-star venue but an old house with accessibility issues. Maintenance problems and limited staff availability left us dissatisfied. The location wasn't as convenient as advertised. Not recommended for short visits or couples. Issues Faced: Pushy Check-in: Manager Paulo tried to upsell a pricier room at check-in, which was uncomfortable. We were just eager to settle in our room. Room Concerns: Standard room lacked windows and garden view. Upgraded room had maintenance issues, noise, and inadequate insulation. Uncomfortable mattresses. Unreliable Breakfast: Daily delays in breakfast delivery. This was especially inconvenient on the day of our departure when I had informed them in advance of my early check-out time. The chef assured me there wouldn't be a problem, but when the morning arrived, there was no one available at the hotel when I needed to leave. Deceptive Practices: Another disappointing aspect of the hotel was the deceptive practices employed by the manager, Paulo. As the hotel is located in a gated community, I sought advice on transportation to the airport. Paulo informed me that calling an Uber was not possible due to the community's rules and offered the hotel's transfer service for a steep price of 250 reales. I ended up getting an uber for less than 70 reales. In conclusion, the hotel didn't meet our expectations. It's not worth a 5-star rating. For a better experience, consider other options.

Nossa estadia no Cliffside foi incrível. A começar pela casa, em si, que é maravilhosa, bem pensada em cada detalhe, das vistas à decoração. A equipe é incrivelmente prestativa, atenciosa e dedicada. Queremos destacar em especial o atendimento do Bruno, que foi um querido desde que chegamos. Luana e Marcelo também nos receberam muito bem, e foram muito gentis, nos atenderam em tudo que precisamos. Até no momento que fomos pra praia fomos surpreendidos com uma carona do Tiago. Percebe-se o empenho que os proprietários vem fazendo em realizar melhorias constantes, respeitando a preservação da memória da casa, que, além de ser uma construção histórica, do seu valor arquitetônico, tem todo um valor cultural pelo histórico de sua ocupação também. Ficamos na suíte Elis Regina, que é a menor do hotel, e foi muito confortável e agradável. Curtir a vista das áreas externas, os diferentes cantinhos disponíveis para sentar e relaxar, foi muito especial. O café da manhã também foi sensacional, tudo muito fresco e caprichado. Queremos agradecer muito e recomendamos a estadia de olhos fechados!

Um projeto em construção...

A casa é linda e a vista espetacular. Mas ainda é um projeto em desenvolvimento. Não tem piscina, pois esta foi transformada em um lago com peixes (há quem goste de nadar com os peixes). Não existe um serviço personalizado e sofisticado que parecia ter. No quarto havia duas pias e só havia toalha em uma delas. Aliás, praticamente não há staff. As opções de refeição (jantar) são limitadas e muito simples, embora o chef seja muito atencioso e queira ajudar. Café da manhã com pães muito ruins. O preço é desproporcional para o que é ofertado. Mas todas as pessoas são muito simpáticas.
