The location of the apartment is interesting. It is right on the Aare River, as the picture shoes. That means the Brienz Lake ferry goes by every hour or so, tooting its whistle, there is a railroad bridge not far away (it is on the walk to Interlaken Ost train station) that trains cross frequently. We walked to Interlaken Ost every day, but took the 102 bus back to the apartment as we had by then had a long day and the walk from the Goldswil Dorf bus station, closest to the apartment was all downhill through the surrounding neighborhood.
The apartment itself is old but clear and well-maintained. There is no extra charge to use the washer/dryer which is close by in the next building. The remodeled room in the apartment is the bathroom, which is about the smallest I have seen. The shower is nice, but to use the toilet, there is a sign on the bathroom door saying not to close the door. In fact, one probably couldn't close the door while sitting on the toilet (Ok for a couple, could be awkward for more than two), but the sink is so small as to be nearly useless. Thankfully the kitchen sink is available.
