「The good= room had a balcony, hotel is nicely situated in a tranquil location, buffet style breakfast was adequate, water/coffee are free, alcohol is available for purchase.
What could be improved= overall the hotel could use a facelift, check-in/welcome was ok, not sure, if the onsite restaurant was even in operation, castle is not walking distance and closes at 5 pm. Booked the hotel for its peaceful location, but noisy guests below my room did not let me enjoy my balcony.

「Great location, beautiful nature! The hotel staff was friendly and the room was super clean/comfortable. We would like to stay here again when we have the other chance to visit Mendig.
(We didn't get any instructions about the park space and we were confused on site for a while, so it would be great if we could get the information in advance. :) )」
