Nous avons passé deux jour dans cet établissement. La chambre est propre, salle de bain pareil ainsi que le coin cuisine. L’emplacement est très bien. Seules déceptions : il est indiqué parking gratuit mais cela ne concerne pas tous les logements et l’inoffensif est donnée après avoir réservé. Seules les appartements de 4 personnes ont une place de parking. Nous avons échangé avec l’établissement sur le sujet et avons essayé de trouver les places gratuites mais nous n’avons rien trouvé hormis des places avec des panneaux indiquant qu’on prend le risque de se faire embarquer la voiture. Nous avons alors pris la décision de garer la voiture sur un des emplacements de l'établissement au risque qu’un autre locataire ne puisse pas y garer sa voiture. Nous avons été déçu de cette fausse information et invitons l’établissement à presciser cela avant. Car nous n’aurions pas réservé la bas sachant cela. Enfin petit point de déception la grande baie vitrée qui donne sur la rue au 1er étage nous oblique à fermer les rideaux tout le temps donc de rester dans le noir avec la lumière des lampes sinon tout le monde dans la rue nous voit. Il faudrait voir pour poser un film sans teint ou un rideau au moins. Nous ne recommandons pas en tout cas sur la base de nos attentes.

There was no warning that the property was completely off to be accessed by car - all of access streets were closed due to some street festival. We drove in circles until we finally found a parking building. In addition, the room didn’t have enough towels for 2 people.

Location of the building is outstanding. A few minutes to walk to a grocery store, across the street from Starbucks and easily walkable to multiple cafes and restaurants. Right on one of the main downtown streets, so plenty to see and do. Bus service available a short walk away. Decent-sized room for family of 4. Room ran very hot though, especially with the bed that is walled in on both sides when you have to have the curtains closed, so if it’s summer and you sleep hot this might not be the room for you. Slippery shower along wall Parking is only available for some units (4-person had it). Parking lot is very tight, especially when staff is on site and takes spot that runs right next to building (other spots are perpendicular to this). Driveway is really hard to pull out of because you are blindly pulling out on to a busy sidewalk on a single-lane roadway where cars are also parking all along. So, one of has to jump out to direct the driver out safely and jump back in, which was annoying. We had to request extra pillows (bed only came with 1 for each person and they were kind of thin) and had to request clean towels (were supposed to be dropped off every few days, but weren’t). Service was fast and friendly. Some suggestions we would make for the property guide—include instructions for the door lock for our room. It does not match what is in the guide and works differently. I would also directions for both the oven and dishwasher because we had to look those up.

Awesome apartment. Can't bet the location. It's within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and rainbow rd. If you rent the larger apt, it comes with onsite parking which was super convenient. Only negative i can list is that there's no microwave. Highly recommended.

WARNING About Svala Apartments Reykjavik

We were locked out one night, so we had to get another hotel with no luggage! The Landlord for the property is almost NEVER THERE and we were lucky to get into the building when someone else opened the outside door, and our password for the room itself worked. We carefully got all of our property out of the building so we could change our hotel for the rest of our first stay there. We had another booking (made at the same time as the first) that was scheduled for 8 days from now. We cancelled our second booking ... and I expected there would be a penalty for that cancellation: IT WAS THE ENTIRE PAYMENT MADE several months ago, so there was NO MONEY REFUNDED!!! We think this is ridiculous, but there is nothing we can do. Obviously we will NEVER use this hotel again, even though we will be back next week.

Perfect spot for exploring Reykjavík!

It was absolutely lovely from beginning to end! We loved the apartment in every way! The view was beautiful. The curtains really blocked out all the light which we appreciated. We only have two small suggestions. A coffee table would have been nice to rest a drink on while sitting on the couch. It would be great if there were more steaming options than just Netflix. But overall the place was truly a delight!

We enjoyed the area, in the heart of Reykjavik. We understood that parking was included in our booking. When we arrived there was no parking spot for our apartment. After communicating w one of the contacts, we were told that parking was only for 4 person apartment bookings. I had to text back and forth for the first day, which was frustrating since I had to retell my problem w diff contacts w each text. but I was happy that each person who texted was helpful. We were lucky that no one was booked in the 4 person apartmt so we were able to use that parking spot for a few days but still had to find street parking for the last day. Not an easy task! The property was clean except for the windows being old and chipped. The bed was comfortable. We needed earplugs since we were on top of the main entertainment street but we expected that.

Nice apartment in Rejkjavik

The apartment was very nice and comfortable for our stay. The location is near several good restaurants and a grocery store. Downtown Reykjavik is only a 5-10 minute walk away. The stairs were a bit steep and the parking was very tight, but at least it has onsite parking - most other places I saw seemed to make you find parking on the street.

Excellent property in a prime area. Check in was smooth and communication with owners was easy. Only thing to be aware of is it is slightly tricky stairs to access, so have to be comfortable with stairs and carrying your luggage up them. Overall will stay again.
