The location of the hotel was great, walkable to the main street (10-15 mins). Free parking on the street if you're able to find a spot, which saved us about $25cad a night. The breakfast was amazing. An awesome selection of hot and cold food items, which we enjoyed very much. They do offer a take away box (sandwich, fruit and pastries) for a fee, which is great for a day trip. The staff were very attentive and helpful, as we had a couple of issues in the room. The hotel does need an upgrade but overall, I would recommend this place.

I had a wonderful stay at Fosshotel Rauðará! The location is excellent, within walking distance of almost everywhere I wanted to go in Reykjavík—a great base for exploring the city. A special thank-you to Julia and the lovely staff member who checked me in upon arrival, whose name I believe was Anna. Both were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and I truly appreciated their kindness. Warm regards to both of you, and thank you for helping make my time in Iceland so memorable. I would happily stay here again!

The location is within walking distance to many of the main downtown sites in Reykjavik. The rooms were comfortable and had a kettle with coffee and tea. No refrigerator was in the room. Parking was either paid in the car park or free on the street. Street parking is limited and busy.

Decent hotel for the night 100% just was a bit old - but perfectly fine to stay a few nights at the good price. I checked in at 2am and they was very helpful and got me checked in easily. When you book make sure you go to the correct "Foss Hotel" this is a chain and I showed up at the wrong hotel. Totally my fault and they was super helpful pointing me in the right direction thank you!

When I arrived, I noticed that the place looked familiar, and then I realized I also stayed here 8 years ago. Lol. As was the case in 2018, I was satisfied with my stay here --- a basic but clean room, helpful staff, a quiet location that is close to shopping and transportation and the main church, etc. Thanks for another great stay!

First and foremost the staff was wonderful. They were helpful, knowledge and kind. The location is terrific. Walking distance to most sites and plenty of Restaurants and grocery near by. The complaints I have is the cost of the room and lack of amenities. The room is tiny and there is no refrigerator.

Convenient location in terms of walking around the city. Breakfast was good too but for a price. The only opportunity for improvement would be figuring out how to get rid of smell of sulfur from the water (sink, shower) as it is quite pungent.

The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a basic hotel with a decent location. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The bathroom was on the smaller side - no shelf space which made getting ready a bit tricky. We didn’t choose to have breakfast there and instead explored the many delicious options within walking distance!
