"We were traveling as a party of 6 for a youth hockey tournament at RPI. The host did not provide good directions to get to the property, good thing we arrived in the daylight. Parking was out back and you have to turn 3 houses prior to the place to get to parking. A few hours after arriving, we noted sewage back up into the shower and bathroom floor! I immediately texted the host. Her response was ‘they are probably using water upstairs, wait a few minutes and it should go down!’ With that response, this was clearly something that has happened before. Several minutes later, after I reiterated to her that we could not use the bathroom, she suggested ‘if you need to use a bathroom, you can go across the street to McDonald’s, they have one!’ Doing this would require walking across an 4 lane highway! I can’t make this up. I responded that was unacceptable and we found a hotel and left. Once at the hotel I contacted VRBO, sent pictures and videos and asked for a refund. VRBO has been terrible to deal with. The host would not respond to any calls or emails from VRBO, and because she was not responding, they could not offer me a refund. Ridiculous! It took 11 days of contacting VRBO daily to finally get a refund. DO NOT STAY WITH THIS HOST!!"

"I think this is one of the best stays I've had at a short term rental. A gorgeous building with lovely decorations blended with modern and convenient amenities. The included towels, washer/dryer, and toiletries also allowed for me to greatly reduce what I needed to pack in my bags. Any questions or concerns I had were rapidly addressed. Nearby there was easy access to buses and delicious restaurants. I'm very glad to have stayed here! "

"Updated apartment with all the modern amenities in a 130 year old brownstone just south of downtown. Walkable to downtown and a variety of restaurants. An area of town that is being renovated, will keep looking nicer as time goes on. Any time I needed something, James the host was very quick to reply and address."

"Place was very clean and centrally located to all we needed to visit our family that week. Only suggestion is pay attention to parking. We came in late on Sunday exhausted and checked out Monday morning. We read the note inside the unit about checking signs for Monday-Thurs nights. Which we did, thought it was Monday night not morning we needed to worry about. Ended up with a parking ticket and hefty tow bill for a very innocent mistake. "

"PROCEED WITH CAUTION! Neighborhood is not safe and the property's renovations need to be completed from a safety and privacy perspective. I did not feel comfortable staying there. So much so upon check-in I decided to leave and found other accommodations elsewhere. Had I known the issues prior, I would never have booked the property. I'm very disappointed that when I asked the host if the area was safe, I was told it was. So I booked. The check-in instructions include a long security paragraph stipulating that the area is known for drug-related crime and shootings and that it's not advised to walk alone at night. Needless to say VERY DISAPPOINTING!"
