"The garden smelled so good and we loved the plants and the receptionist was kind and helpful. The downside is the bedding was a sheet and thin blanket and another sheet. There was no comforter. We were freezing!!! The heater works well but sucks oxygen out of the air would have been nice to have a normal blanket. Never had this situation at a hotel before. The other thing was the breakfast offered was mostly cerial, bread, fruit, there was bacon but it wasn’t like anything I seen before paper thin. Usually places have potatoes, sausages, waffles and pasteries . First time seeing that too. "

"We discovered the Ayres Hotel chain several years ago by accident when we were fed up paying super high parking charges at most hotels in Orange County...including the Ayres Hotel in Costa Mesa! We stayed there in 2024, paying for parking and breakfast. Then we discovered the Ayres Hotel in Laguna Woods...cheaper stay, free cooked to order breakfast and FREE PARKING! AND, a beautiful place, close to almost everything!! What's not to like? AND, the front desk staff, cleaning staff, breakfast staff are all EXCEPTIONAL! We love this Hotel!!! John E Hanna MD"

"I’ve stayed at other La Quinta Hotels before and it wasn’t bad .But this location in Irvine was horrible we checked in and saw how horrible the rooms are and checked out in less than 15 mins this place should be investigated for how poorly the whole place looks. Only good part is the refunded our money it was almost like they were not surprised how fast we came back to the front desk to check out. "

"Do not get the breakfast. Was over price for what you get. It grab and go and definitely not worth what they charge. Instead order uber eats. Staff was just ok. Parking is $10 per day for public style parking, nothing special, no security which is what i would expect it to cover. Our room had a balcony... if that is what you call it. It was like 1 ft by 6 ft. I was expecting something we could sit and enjoy a meal on. Our bed was super soft... too soft if you ask me(we both woke up with back aches). We had these little bugs flying all around our room and could not figure out why. We did not mention it to staff because we knew the hotel was full and probably nothing could be done"
