The Space:
In a peaceful seaside town on the North Yorkshire coast, you will find Retreat by the Sea. This newly renovated, two bedroom apartment brings a sense of calm with its neutral colour palette and abundance of light.
The living room space is simple in it’s décor. With a large bay window looking out onto the quiet street and two large plush fabric sofas, it's perfect for relaxing. Plus it boasts a log burner - the ultimate treat after a day exploring.
The spacious kitchen provides everything you need for a stay away from home. With an electric oven and hob, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, toaster and added luxuries of a coffee machine and dishwasher. This stylish space has fresh white walls and deep blue units. The extendable dining table seats four people comfortably.
The first of the two bedrooms features a simple, Scandi-style double bed, two simple white bedside tables, with reading lamps, and a selection of soft furnishings adding texture and colour to the space. With double doors opening out onto the patio area, you can enjoy a morning cuppa while the morning breeze flows in.
The second bedroom features a pale colour palette of blue and grey. The double bed sits neatly in the centre of the room, with matching side tables either side and a small reading lamp to one side. The crisp white linen on the beds are the perfect invite for a good night sleep.
The bathroom is a fresh and bright space with a full bathroom suite in bright white, grey metro tiles and chrome fixtures and fittings.
The sheltered garden space is perfect for al-fresco dining. Completely enclosed, it is ideal for your pups to enjoy. With faux plants and a nautical ‘nod’ throughout, the Retreat by the Sea is exactly that.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
Free on street parking is available directly outside the property, these spaces are on a first come first served basis.
The Neighborhood:
Marske-by-the-Sea is a delightful village located on the North Yorkshire coast, less than 10 minutes from Saltburn and Redcar. The village square is packed with independent businesses, including dog-friendly cafes, pubs, micropubs and restaurants.
The property is Just moments from Marske Valley Gardens where you can explore walkways lined with beautiful flowers. Head to Marske Sands and you’ll find a long stretch of gently sloping sandy beach. The famous Cleveland Way snakes its way across the cliff tops and along the beach to Saltburn and beyond.
Neighbouring Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a great place to visit during your stay. Take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
You can also find popular villages and towns such as Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby further along the coast.
Getting Around:
Retreat By The Sea is within walking distance of all that Marske has to offer, within 5 minutes’ drive time of Saltburn and 20 minutes to Staithes, Middlesbrough and the delightful North Yorkshire Moors.
Marske Train Station is a short walk away and has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
There are plenty of bus routes throughout Marske. Hop on the Arriva X4 route and you can visit beautiful coastal villages like Staithes, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Whitby.
