Frida's by the Sea Beach House

This 100 year old house offers a rustic & retro beach house experience. Kept simple, comfortable, it offers classic fun including jigsaws, games, TV, DVDs & wifi. It is only a 5 minute bush walk to stunning Blackhead Beach or 10 minutes through a sub-tropical rainforest to the shops. Once you've arrived there's no need to get in your car til you're ready to go home.

The space
This is a much loved beach house & a great place to unwind, get active & reconnect with yourself & your family. There are ocean baths, beach walking & exploring to do with a patrolled swimming beach (school holidays). We are dog friendly on request, please let us know how many & what breeds so we can confirm if this will work, we ask dogs be kept off inside furniture & ask guests to pick up any dog poop in the yard. There is a one-off pet fee of $25. It's a dog friendly beach but have your leads with you for certain area's. , The fencing is about 1.2 metres high so best for small dogs and the neighbours have dogs too, so one's that don't get too barky would be welcome.

Frida's is close to the beach and catches a great ocean breeze, there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living area, and we've got ducted air-conditioning.
There is good mobile coverage from Telstra & Optus, other providers are variable.

The bathroom has a shower over its clawfoot bath, it’s a little curvy on the bottom and maybe unstable for some, we have a great ensuite shower as well & an outdoor shower with hot and cold.

We are LGBTIQ friendly and this is the perfect honeymoon venue!

Frida's has a wrap around verandah on two sides, it's like a room outside and you can move with the sun or hide in the shade. On one side the veranda is about 1 metre in height without railings and that's why we've recommended not suitable for children under 3 years, you can use your own judgement.

Charming Old Home

I recommend this stay as in good location not far from anything you may want. Our Host was exceptional, and we never wanted for a thing. Very pretty beaches and dog friendly as well and not overcrowded. Would stay again.

Lovely old house, very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the flannelette sheets were cosy. The open fire and an abundance of fire wood was a bonus on the cold nights. Even though the ducted air conditioning worked well we really didn't need to use it. Good secure yard for our fur baby.

Wonderful getaway

We had a wonderful peaceful 5-day nature getaway from the city at Frida's by the Sea Beach House: close to beautiful Red Head beach via nature walk, lovely modernised farmhouse-style cottage with the feeling of home + art decor, dog friendly for our little Jack Russell cross including fenced in yard and friendly cow neighbours, wonderful dark skies to see the Milky Way etc, close to Forster for excellent dog-friendly restaurants,..., and friendly responsive host Evelyn. Sanctuary

We enjoyed every moment. The bush walk to beach and shops, the beautiful garden where our grandkids could run around when they visited. The interiors are filled with wonderful artworks and the vibe is one where the laughter of children seems to hang in the air when you first enter the house. Very special, thank you!

Fabulous “Fridas “

We had a fabulous 4 nights at “Fridas” with our new puppy an a few family members . Very comfortable eclectically decorated home with a well stocked pantry and functional kitchen . Beds very comfy with two full bathrooms. Yard was fully fenced to stop escaping puppy. Short 200 mtr walk to beach access Highly recommend! Chris W

old fashioned holiday

Lovely old house, great location to just chill and do the things we did as kids, like swim and fish , laze on the verandah or beach , read a book ,play a board game . We went off grid had no computers , no TV (our choice) just the radio and the sound of the numerous birds that visited the garden .

Relaxing break

We loved the cozy ‘old style’ atmosphere of this charming property. The wide veranda with a breeze to sit around reading or having a cuppa. Books and DVD library. Short walk to the (unpatrolled) section of the beach. We didn’t enjoy the smoke alarm that randomly and loudly went off on several nights in the wee small hours. Drove us crazy! Overall however, a pleasant break.

We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable, spacious house. Every room was a joy & furnished with a homage to Frida. We especially loved the verandah and ensuite! What a great stay!
