Frida's by the Sea Beach House
This 100 year old house offers a rustic & retro beach house experience. Kept simple, comfortable, it offers classic fun including jigsaws, games, TV, DVDs & wifi. It is only a 5 minute bush walk to stunning Blackhead Beach or 10 minutes through a sub-tropical rainforest to the shops. Once you've arrived there's no need to get in your car til you're ready to go home.
The space
This is a much loved beach house & a great place to unwind, get active & reconnect with yourself & your family. There are ocean baths, beach walking & exploring to do with a patrolled swimming beach (school holidays). We are dog friendly on request, please let us know how many & what breeds so we can confirm if this will work, we ask dogs be kept off inside furniture & ask guests to pick up any dog poop in the yard. There is a one-off pet fee of $25. It's a dog friendly beach but have your leads with you for certain area's. , The fencing is about 1.2 metres high so best for small dogs and the neighbours have dogs too, so one's that don't get too barky would be welcome.
Frida's is close to the beach and catches a great ocean breeze, there are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living area, and we've got ducted air-conditioning.
There is good mobile coverage from Telstra & Optus, other providers are variable.
The bathroom has a shower over its clawfoot bath, it’s a little curvy on the bottom and maybe unstable for some, we have a great ensuite shower as well & an outdoor shower with hot and cold.
We are LGBTIQ friendly and this is the perfect honeymoon venue!
Frida's has a wrap around verandah on two sides, it's like a room outside and you can move with the sun or hide in the shade. On one side the veranda is about 1 metre in height without railings and that's why we've recommended not suitable for children under 3 years, you can use your own judgement.

Was really clean and spacious, quiet street. Great retro pieces of furniture, well set up kitchen, great verandas, close to beach.Well set up games, books, cd’s.Loved the Frida Kahlo pics and reference's, in fact all the eclectic arts. Great art materials, if one wants to draw or paint. Nice garden for children.There is lots to love about it and hope to visit again. Its a really lovey home to relax and totally unwind in.

Wonderful & whimsical
We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable, spacious house. Every room was a joy & furnished with a homage to Frida. We especially loved the verandah and ensuite! Everything we could possibly need was supplied. With nearby beaches to explore and great communication from the owners we wished we could have stayed longer.

Charming and well equipped
Deceivingly huge home, with loads of interesting quirks, corners, nooks and crannies. We stayed with our dogs and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. Easy walk to the beach. Fantastic deck. Sit back and relax!

This is our second stay at Frieda. It is a beautiful " home away from home" that has absolutely everything you require for a serene stay. We would love to come back in winter to enjoy the fire.

We absolutely loved everything about Frida's. The house was delightful, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Even though it rained a bit, the verandah was perfect for reading and napping. The dogs loved the beautiful beach a short walk away. Highly recommend.. The house was .

Special House
We keep returning to this magical house that is an Australian classic home, built for family fun by the sea and bush walks, back in the days when homes were made for living. Every amenity needed is supplied and our grandkids love playing on the roofed veranda and the beautiful garden, so easy to supervise games and outdoor fun even in the rain. We'll keep returning to Saint Fridas. Thanks Jessica and Steve the caretakers and Evelyn and Kerry the Hostesses of the mostest! XX

Cosy seaside cottage
Frida's by the sea is a charming, comfortable cottage with a wrap-around verandah which is great spot to relax. All amenities were in place including an effective air-con system and modern appliances in a quirky, traditional setting. The location is surprisingly close to the dog-friendly beach via a lane and short stroll through the bush. Notes left by the host made us feel welcome and there were lots of basics (tea, coffee, milk etc.) in the kitchen so no need to go to the shops for anything apart from food. Overall, a great place for a relaxing getaway.

Great home in quiet friendly street & dog friendly ;)
Good communication with host Evelyn. Cosy home in great street with all you need, clean house, comfortable bed and lounge, completely fenced for your little pups which, if well behaved are able to stay, we really appreciated this opportunity and made sure we abided by the rules to keep house clean for next holiday makers, which we believe is very important. Will hopefully be back to this little gem of coast line.
